🌺 Hazel's hair is dyed black in this

Jimin smelled a familiar scent, it was sweet, like desserts and something floral. Almost sickeningly sweet. He smelled it everyday for a couple of months now, but it wasn't until today that he looked up as he got a whiff of it when someone passed him. He found himself staring at the back of a massive shirt, which had long sleeves that draped over the thin arms of a young girl.

He noticed how black her glistening hair was, so black it looked blue. And when she turned her head the gleam would shift along the waves of her hair texture. Her hair was split perfectly down the middle, two identical curly puffs on either side of her head.

Had he seen her before?

Her hands were hidden by her long sleeves, but he saw a glimpse of her fingers, which were a sort of deep caramel shade. She takes a seat at a desk behind him, a few seats away and in the row to his left. She started to unpack her things to start the class.

Jimin hadn't noticed it when Jungkook and Hoseok approached, nor when his younger companion slammed the text book onto his desk. JK and Hobi exchange a knowing look. "Jimin-ah," Hoseok called, only to get no response. The pair follow his gaze at the new girl - well, by now she was no longer 'new' so much as she was brought later in the year than everyone else. She'd already been there two months.

Jungkook waves his hand in front of Jimin's gaze, effectively snapping him out of it. The brunette turned and stared at his two friends, trying not to act surprised that they were there. He didn't think he'd get that distracted.

His friends take their seats, Hoseok nudging Jimin. "Are you making a move, or what?" He urged in their native tongue.

Jimin turned his head back to her, glad she hadn't noticed. He faces his friends again, "Who is she?"

"Have you seriously been blind these past two months, hyung? That's Hazel. Her aunt owns a bakery?"

Well, he supposed that explained why she smelled like sweets. "Okay, but who is she?" He reiterated, she was pretty. Really pretty. Since their coming to America, Jimin hadn't really taken much interest into American girls. He was convinced he'd only ever be interested in Korean girls, as he'd only ever had girlfriends from his country of origin. That perspective changed today.

Hoseok shrugs, "We dunno. Why don't you ask her?" He smirked, at that moment the teacher started taking attendance, which was his method of effectively shutting the class up, if you missed your name you were marked for skipping. Jimin made his presence known when his name was called, and was shocked when he heard the name "Hazel Stewart." Had he really not realized that she was literally one name after him according to the class's alphabetical arrangements?

He didn't hear her voice, however, so he peeked back again to see her hand raised. Jungkook leans close to him, speaking under his breath. "She doesn't speak much," Jungkook explained. "Most people think she's mute."

"Which is fucking dumb, because she talks when she has to, I guess she just likes keeping her head down." Hoseok added, of course, still speaking Korean. They've come to find that a lot of American high schools were incredibly diverse, people speak all sorts of languages in the country. Sure Jimin and his friends occasionally get made fun of for it, but no one dares to do it in front of them. Little do they know those people get cursed out in Korean all the time.

Jimin couldn't help himself from glancing back at her every now and then throughout the class. Next was lunch, his favorite period.

He and pretty much all the Korean male transfers sat at the same table. They were all part of a program, which was their purpose there. Jin and Namjoon were already sitting, Jin seemed to really like American food, and was the only one amongst them all that really ate it much.
