The one where he has hate in his heart (KTH)

Taehyung stormed into his large home, which he unfortunately had to share with another person. And it just so happened to be the last person he wanted to see. He groaned at the sight of Hope in the grand dining room, promptly setting the table. Maybe she invited her own guests to the house, he'd never bothered to inquire. Instead, he jogged up the stairs to his office.

Six months... They were only six months into this marriage and he still couldn't bear it. His parents wouldn't allow him to file for a divorce until it had at least been a year since the certificate was signed. He let the door slam shut behind him and he dropped his briefcase onto his desk, groaning at the amount of work he had left to do.

He could hear Hope downstairs in the kitchen, and smell a big meal cooking. Who did she think was going to eat so much food? He'd already had dinner at the family company. He took out his folders and opened some files on one of his computers, sighing as he focuses in on his work. He was so invested that he hadn't realized how much time had passed, and how dark it was getting outside. Most of all, he hadn't noticed the silhouette behind the frosted glass of his office door, despite his desk facing it.

There was a soft knock, and Taehyung groaned to himself. "What do you want?" He muttered in annoyance, not looking away from his screen. To his frustration, she peeked her head in, looking quite meek, as she usually did when she talked to him - which in itself was a considerably rare event.

"I know today was your family's company anniversary, and I know that you couldn't celebrate with them like you wanted, so I made you dinner. I figured you'd want to invite your friends, too."

He sighed, sending her a hard stare, "What makes you think I had no one to celebrate with?"

Hope's sullen face falls, and she stares at the ground. "Y-You said-"

"How many times do I have to tell you to look at me when I'm talking to you. If you're going to stand there mumbling to yourself, you're wasting my time."

"You told me your family was going to be abroad for today-"

"Well, they came back last night. And we celebrated before I came home. Now if you'll excuse me." He dismissed, and Hope stood speechless. She'd dedicated half her day to making that dinner. As much as she knew he didn't like her, she still knew how much it would mean to him, and had hopes that it could eliminate the tension they had between them. This was her third time in the six months they've been married that she's attempted to bring them a little closer, or at least not be so distant. Now she remembers why she didn't bother trying for three months.

He noticed her still stood there, hurt in her eyes. He rolled his eyes especially hard, "No one told you to make dinner. You could have made a reservation at a restaurant or something."

Hope turned away on her heel as he was ranting, feeling too terribly to sit there and listen to him berate her again. She never knew why he didn't like her, why he hated her so much. His family was nice to her, very nice. So much that had it not been for their resemblance, she'd have a hard time believing they were related to Taehyung. He was cold and seemingly heartless. He treated Hope like she was scum on his shoe, just another contract that he was awaiting the expiration date for.

She didn't bother shutting his door, he could do it his damn self. She heard him shout back at her to close it as it was but she pretended she couldn't hear him, trying to think of what she could possibly do with so much heavy food.

She ate alone, slowly, a small part of her wanted him to join her, because she thought the family celebration story was bullshit - just something he thought of on the spot to make her feel like shit and further reiterate how little he wants to do with her.
