A year had followed the couple's honeymoon. Most of which was quite busy with work as they each had projects to work on.

Jungkook would return home, typically at a late hour, to find food in the fridge and Joy passed out in bed. Since his return from the military, she used to wait long hours for him to return home. But Jungkook didn't like having to keep bringing her to bed when he came home. Not to mention, he didn't want her up losing sleep over him. So, as of recently, she's always found sleeping in their bed.

The house was content, very much so. Usually whenever the two had time together it was well spent, if they weren't out and about, the home was filled with laughter and cheeriness.

And yet, somehow on this particular late night, Jungkook couldn't help but feel as though it was vacant. He had an urge to fill it, though. No doubt Joy felt this same absence, especially when he was not with her, as she was always home a couple of hours sooner than he was.

He migrated upstairs and washed up for the night, Joy stirring in bed when he climbed in. He leans over her body to turn off her bedside lamp, she had a habit of falling asleep as she was reading. She still had her tablet in her hand. He sits up, grabbing the smart device to plug in for her, though as the cord was inserted the screen lit up.

Jungkook curiously examines the checklist Joy had written on the device, most of which being typical chores and responsibilities for her to take care of, though one thing caught his eye. It was highlighted in purple, reading Ask Kookie about a dog? in English.

He hums, turning the device off and placing it beside her lamp safely, switching the glowing light off before leaning down and kissing her temple.

Needless to say, he got home early one day, around noon. Joy would be arriving two hours later, and so that would give Jungkook ample time to set up the surprise he had for her.

The little hound was quite lethargic, however, having slept that whole morning. At least he wasn't too hyper for Jungkook to tie a bow to his collar. Jungkook scratches his floppy ears, one of them would erect itself every now and then as the puppy sluggishly fought sleep.

He chuckled, "Yah, you've gotta stay up so you can greet your new Mommy." Of course he wasn't listened to, and the boxer pup rested his face back on his paws, his jowls drooping adorably.

Jungkook sighs, humming as he thinks of something that'll get him a bit more energized. He nudged the pup with a plush toy - one that didn't make noise, as the Jeon's both agreed that if they were to ever get a pet that it would never have noisy toys. Despite his efforts, the pup let out a soft snore. It was cute, he'll give him that.

Jungkook checks his watch and sighs, he couldn't feed the pup, as he's very susceptible to having whatever he consumes go right through him, and Jungkook had taken him out and bathed him already.

He'd let Joy name their puppy, since she had wanted it in the first place. Jungkook settles to just carry him in his arms, lifting the pup up and bouncing him as though he were a little fussy baby. The pup's big eyes crack open as he does so, whimpering because he was disturbed.
