Naniniwala ako na ang piksyon (fiction) ay pagtakas sa realidad, isang pagpapahayag ng kung ano ang hinahangad ng ating isip. Escapism. Kaya ko sinusulat ang kwentong ito. Sa tingin ko'y bago ako maaaring maka-move on at magsimulang mabuhay sa tunay na mundo, kailangan ko munang iwan ang aking mundong aking patuloy na hinahangad. At ang pagsulat nito ang nakikita kong paraan para matanggap ko ang katotohanan. At bumitaw.
Tutol ang aking kapatid ko sa pananaw kong pagtakas sa katotohanan ang piksyon. Naniniwala siyang salamin ng katotohanan ang piksyon. Kaya kahit na katha kong mundo.
Sa mga umaasang magiging kumentaryo ito ng lipunan, paumanhin. Pwede namang kayong manood ng balita, o kaya Ang Probinsyano. Pero gabay din ang akdang ito kung paano tayo dapat mabuhay. Di tayo dapat magpadaig sa nakatatanda. Pero di rin natin dapat minamaliit ang nakababata.
Halong Ingles at Filipino ang kwentong ito, dahil wala namang sumusulat sa purong talinhaga.

I believe that fiction is an escape from reality, an expression of the mind's hidden desires. Hence, I write this story. My lifecoach tells me I need to move on and realize that things are not what it seems. But to be able to do that, I have to leave the world I dream about, the one that for the longest time, I wish I would have. Writing this is the best way to accept, to bid farewell, and to start living in the real world.
My sibling strongly disagrees with the view of fiction as escapism. Hence this world I made reflects reality, with all its ugliness and stresses. I initially wanted some elements of science fiction or fantasy to be part of this work. But I ultimately decided against it. Again, because I realize that fiction is a reflection of the real world. I have to face the music: I cannot escape entirely.
This will not be a commentary on politics. Sorry. If you want that, the news or Ang Probinsyano are available. But this work aims to be a guidebook on how to live as people. We should not kowtow to those older than us, but nor must we mock those younger.
This work will be a mix of English and Filipino, because let's face it, no one writes and understands deep drivel.
