Mary's breath was heavy in Francis' ear as he lay on top of her. He buried his face in her neck, tasting the salt of her sweat as he brought them closer and closer to euphoria. Her legs were clamped around his waist, her moans getting louder and louder as she buried her head back into the pillow. Her husbands' lips found hers ans she moaned in contentment, threading her long, thin fingers in his long blonde locks. She whimpered, their bodies starting to tighten in anticipation of that sweet paradise they hadn't felt in far too long.
Closer and closer, and then,
The door opened.
Mary shrieked in surprise, throwing her husband from her body. Catherine's own cry of surprise echoed in the room as her eldest son frantically covered them by the expensive, fine sheets that lay open the King and Queen of France and Scotland's bed.
"Mother?!" Francis cried out. His wife echoed the sentiment with a shrill "get out!" as she burrowed underneath the sheets, behind her husband.
Mary buried her face in Francis' neck for a different reason this time, trying to hide as her face flamed in embarrassment and anger. Once he made sure she was covered, and him, too, the King of France and Scotland huffed in irritation, calling out to his mother, who still stood in their bedchambers. Her back was to them.
"Fine, you can turn around." Francis groaned, slinging an arm over his wife as she tried to hide behind him.
Catherine huffed and obeyed, her red velvet gown blooming at the hem as she spun to face the irritated King.
"What are you doing here?" he grumbled.
"I came to tell you that the mother of your bastard," she spat the name. "is looking for you. Something about a potential courtship with the duc de Toulouse, for your consent." she gave him a knowing look. "Yet I see you're rather preoccupied with creating an actual heir to give her any thought." she smirked. Francis' eyes narrowed.
"I will see to her momentarily." Francis began. "is there anything else?" he asked sharply, moving the arm that was around his wife as if to remind his mother that she was there, and that the two of them were busy.
"Yes," Catherine said courtly, irritated at her son for giving her such cheek. "The Viscount of Baveria will return to court in three days time, you must write the letter of armistice to rid us of any suspicion after what your father did to his sister in their last visit." Catherine shuddered at the memory of working with her long dead husband to rid themselves of the Vicountess' accidental murder. I did love that coverlet, she admitted to herself bitterly, remembering that pretty rug gifted to her by a distant relative upon her marriage to Henry, before looking back at Francis, whom still appeared irritated.
"Very well," he groaned. "Now, may you please leave us?"
"Make sure you include no mention of the disaster that was your father and that woman, whom he-"
"Yes, yes, I'm very aware of what father did." Francis threw an arm around his eyes, unable to believe the situation, although he wasn't aware of why. It wasn't the first time this had happened. Try the ninth, he thought with dismay.
"Good," she looked them both over. "In the middle of the day, honestly." she scoffed. Mary blushed from behind her husband, digging her face deeper into his slick skin. "Well," she sighed. "at least I can hope for a legitimate grandchild soon." she finished. "Well then," she nodded. "as you were."
Then, the Queen Mother of France turned upon her heel and walked away.
The disbelieving couple upon the bed were too flabbergasted to say a word as the door closed.
