Chapter 26

Timeskip

You were walking with you team in some woods with creepy trees as Ruby and Jaune carried Qrow on a makeshift stretcher to carry his weakened body.

Ruby: " Just........ Hold on, Uncle Qrow. "

Qrow: " Tai..... She's not coming...... Tai. "

Qrow begins to cough loudly.

Jaune: " He's getting worse. "

(Y/N): " Damn it.......... "

Ruby: " How much farther? "

Nora: " We've got to be close. "

Ren: " Without a map, there's no way of knowing, but I feel like we're close to something. "

Ren then looks back forwards to see a signpost

Ruby: " What is it? "

Ren runs forwards to it with you and Nora following.

Nora: " Hey, hey Mistral! We're on the right path! "

Nora looks back at the sign.

Nora: " Oh........... "

Ruby: " Does it say how close? "

Ren: " No, and it looks like the path takes us up through the mountains. "

Ruby and Jaune put down Qrow.

Jaune: " Guys, I don't think all of us can make that climb. "

Ruby runs over to you.

Ruby: " Ok, well, what about this place? "

She points to the only sign heading away from Mistral. 

(Y/N): " You mean Kuroyuri? Yeah, couldn't we get help there? "

Ren: " That village was destroyed years ago. "

Jaune: " But if it takes us around the mountains, it's the best bet we've got. "

Ren: " It would take too long. "

(Y/N): " The town would have had a doctor, right? Maybe we could look for medicine. "

Jaune: " Right! "

Ren: " We aren't going to find anything! We just have to press on! "

Everyone goes quiet for a second.

Jaune: " Ren, why are you acting- "

Nora: " We can split up. "

Nora says this as she places her hand on Ren's back. 

Ruby: " Huh? "

Nora: " Ren, (Y/N), and I can cut through the mountains while you and Jaune take Qrow around through the village. "

Jaune: " No, we're supposed to stick together. We keep each other safe! "

Nora: " We don't have time for safe! If we make it to Mistral, we'll bring back help! If we don't we'll at least have a better view of the land! Up there, we can see if there's somewhere else we can go! "

Ren looks back towards Nora with comfort. Qrow then begins to cough violently. 

Jaune: " Ok. "

Jaune hugs Ren. 

Jaune: " Just take care of each other. "

Nora looks at Ren.

Nora: " We always have. "

(Y/N): " And i'll be here to back you two up. "

Jaune and Ruby then pick up Qrow and nod to signify they were ready. Nora waves goodbye and you three were off.
