It had been a month since we had gone to the regional tournament for our robotics competition. With all our hard work combined, we miraculously made it to the provincials tournament, which was being hosted in another district's college. We had to wake up at 5:00 in time for the taxis Ms Kota ordered to pick us up. Ms Kota and Ms Toreno rode with us, while Mr. Alexander was in his own car, driving all our equipment over to the tournament. Mrs. Tai won't show up until 12 due to having to take care of her own children.
"Remember guys, no matter what happens, we're still proud of you all! Please don't stop trying until the very end." Ms Kota cheered us on in the car. My head dipped every so often until I drifted off to sleep again. The car was silent again, the sound of soft snores filled the space.
"Did... Did someone fall asleep?" Our coach giggled.
"Yes," Margaret said as softly as she could. "Chael fell asleep."
There was silence, all the way to our destination. I woke up halfway through the trip and stared blankly out the window without saying a word. The sky was still dark, streetlights were still active, and the road was barely populated, except for a few cars that pass by occasionally.
When we get there, we're introduced to our table, where we can put our coats and bags for the time that we are here. Mr. Alexander should be arriving with our equipment any time soon now. Ms Kota's phone rings with his caller ID displayed in big white letters. She orders Margaret, Bella, Kellain, and I to go fetch all our equipment while the others stay behind to tidy our space.
"Careful, Chael. This one's heavy. Maybe Margaret should carry it..." I lift the box filled with our robots and computers with slight ease.
"Don't worry about a thing," I grumble loud enough for him to hear. "I'm not handicapped yet, though I'll be sure to tell you when my back gives out on me." I joke sarcastically, taking in a deep cold breath and carrying the box back to the auditorium. It was very chilly in the mornings, especially since it was January, and I wasn't wearing my coat or my sweater. The sky was a haze of pink and purple, with snowflakes falling down at a slow rate.
"Hurry up and stop starring at the sunrise, or you'll catch a cold." I rush into the building with the others, Mr. Alexander only a few short steps behind us.

"Ms Kota, is it lunch time yet? I'm starving! None of us had breakfast this morning." One of our younger members whined in annoyance. We all felt our stomachs growl in hunger, and looked up with pleading eyes.
"Guys, please be patient. I don't know when the pizza is going to be here. Please just hold on for a few more minutes." Margaret looked pale, her pupils constricted, and she swayed. I sent her a worried glance, and she rubbed her eyes and temple. I fished over my backpack and pulled out a chocolate bar and tossed it over to her. It landed in her lap, but she didn't make a move to eat it. She threw it back instead. I, now very annoyed at her stubbornness, sent it back to her more aggressively, and insisted on eating it. She gives in and eats the chocolate bar, while I drink my water to contain my hunger for a few more minutes. Our guide named Marry brings over 4 boxes of pizzas, and we let the youngest members take their share of it first. It only takes me 3 minutes to finish my two slices of pizza.
"Can I go to the cafe in this campus to buy a drink?" I ask Kellain, who is also done her lunch. She shrugs.
"We can ask. I also want to get something to drink. I'm starting to crave hot chocolate." She grabs the her wallet, and I get mine. Bella and Margaret are already asking.
