Chapter 27
Work was tiring and I needed a catnap. I decided to turn on the Hallmark channel only to realize Druman was missing. Pretty soon, he came shambling in and I knew exactly what he had been doing.
"Druman," I asked, "Were you with a girl?"
"Yeah" he replied.
"You need to stop seeing her" I responded.
"Why?' Druman told me, "are you jealous?'
Druman was being a jerk but I had a cure. Too bad it was quite terrifying.
"Druman," I said, "Did you know I had another roommate?"
"No" he answered quietly "what happened to her?"
I ushered him into my room and he saw my snake tank.
"That's a snake," he said.
"She used to be human," I told him.
"What happened to her?" Druman said doubtfully.
"She took an injection to get her powers," I said, "It was a type of a snake mutagen."
"Did she have a name?" Druman pondered.
"Her name was Beatrix Keener," I told him.
"Beatrix," he said,"That's a cool name."
After that comment, I rushed Druman out the door. We had another night of crime-fighting ahead of us...
