CHAPTER 10: POOL PARTY

Red's POV

IN the middle of the field, a very young thin boy was consistently chased by his classmates.

Some chasing moments will be considered as part of his childhood, but some was seriously taken into him.

From his rare physical appearance and personality the other treated him as very different.

The way they act,

The way they talk,

The way they brought themselves as a person,

and the profanity of his human personality.

Childhood life for him was like living in a very dessert island, alone and constantly pressured.

Some tries to befriend with him, some was just for plasticity and toxicity.

He was concentrated for some kind of friendship, but that thing was just turned to a waste of time.

An island alone in the center of the sea, but sometimes there were visitors who visited across his crib.

And that young little thin boy is me.

NARAMDAMAN kong may tumapik sa aking balikat kaya agad nitong ginising ang aking diwa. Hindi ko namalayan na naka-idlip pala ako sa kalagitnaan ng night party.

Tumayo na ako mula sa pagkakahiga sa isang pang-beach na higaan. Wala naman sigurong masama kung kahit gabi ay parang nagbabad ako sa ilalim ng kadiliman ng gabi imbis na sa araw.

"Come on Red join us," sabi ng lalaking tumapik sakin.

Akala ko kung sino si Gray lang pala. He's inviting me to raise a glass with them.

But instead of accepting, I still have doubt in my mind, "Dito lang muna ako, mas maganda siguro kung magbabad muna ako sa ilalim ng gabi," sabi ko at bahagyang natawa.

Kinuha niya sa isang tabi ang upuan at kaagad na umupo. He waved his hand to me to be seated, which I easily obeyed.

"Hindi ka ba umiinom ng alak Red? Like them? See how they enjoyed drinking some liquor drinks," tanong niya sakin. Magkaharap ang aming mga mukha, kumbaga usapang panlalaki nang walang kasamang alak.

"Hindi naman ako katulad nila," sagot ko na ikinagulat ng mga mata ni Gray ng marinig ang aking inasal.

"No, what I mean... I had never tried to taste the spirit of liquor." I cope up the words I left to convey in my message.

"For some kind, have you went into a party like these? Isn't this awkward for you. Since we are in your house," he's being observant to me.

"For some kind, yes... But this is just a little bit of some kind of... you know, new stuff for me."

"Does something... bothers you Red? You can tell it to me, you know that I'm everyone's shoulder to lean on once they have problem... and you know that," he said sincerely.

I've known Gray as everybody's good companion. He's like a great team leader and older brother to everyone. But that doesn't define his whole personality, there are still some pieces that were not revealed about him.

"The only thing that bothers me is about..," pabitin kong sambit at inihiga ang aking sarili saka isinuot ang dark shade na nakasabit sa aking damit.

"My life in the future," wala sa sarili kong sabi kay Gray.

Bahagya kong narinig na napatawa siya sa sinabi ko, pero hindi ko nalang iyon pinansin dahil hindi rin naman seryoso ang pagkakasabi ko noon.

"Huwag kang mag-alala diyan Red, lahat tayo ay sabay-sabay na bubuuin ang mga pangarap natin," sabi niya sa tunong nangangako na may kasiguraduhang mangyayari nga.
