i quickly pull my hand away from his and await an explanation

"what?" i speak up because he was just staring at me and not talking "i wanted to ask if you would come to corbyn's party with me on saturday"

"no i'm sorry but i can't and i don't want to" i say and his smile fades, how can he even ask me to a party with him after he 'lost feelings' and then not talking to each other all this time, i look back up at him and he scratches the back of his neck

i almost feel bad for saying no but then i realise, this is corbyn's party, zach probably just wants to use me for the night and then ignore me like he always has at least 95% of my life since i first saw him

"i need to get to class zach" i say and his face changes "you know my name?" he asks and i almost choke on air in shock "of course i know your name, after everything you did you seriously thought i could forget about you?"

"i don't understand, i haven't done anything i only tried to give you my number and asked you to a party" i scoff at him and walk to my class

that boy seriously has some ego if he thinks he can act as if the past never happened, i tried to block out my past and thought i had succeeded until he came along and basically rubbed it in my face that i failed to leave it all behind

"and then if you press this button it changes the air from hot to cold" jonah says while explaining the air conditioning in his car, he's been showing me everything i would wanna know about his car for 20 minutes now and he said that this is the last thing he has to show me

"so now i've shown you everything, how about we go somewhere to eat" jonah suggests and i put my seat belt on "yes let's go i'm so hungry"

we drive to a little cafe that is about 15 minutes away and we order our food

"so anything interesting happen this morning?" jonah asks as we eat "zach talked to me, invited me to a party, basically denied the past but yeah it's no big deal"

"wow he must have a pretty big ego to do that" i nod "i was thinking the exact same thing"

my phone vibrates in my pocket so i pull it out to see what it was, it is a message from my mom

mom
hi, will you be visiting home for the weekend? jonah can come too if he wants. we have new neighbours as well so we will be having dinner with them because they invited us over, let me know if you are coming x

"my mom has invited us to stay at theirs at the weekend so do you wanna come?" i ask jonah "sure i'd love to come, as long as that's okay with your parents of course"

"sure it is! my mom was the one who invited you" i say and message my mom back

me and jonah will be coming at the weekend! jonah said he would love to come. dinner with the new neighbours sounds great too!

i'm glad. i can't wait to see you again and to meet jonah

"my mom said that she can't wait to meet you" i tell jonah and he laughs quietly "i'm excited to meet your parents too"

"okay, i'm gonna book our flights for friday afternoon since neither of us have classes on friday"

"okay"
