that's all jasmine saw when she left LA for Minnesota to go to college
that's where she met jonah marais, that name sounds familiar but it's probably nothing right?
"have you seen the new guy?"

zach hey i was wondering if you wanna come to the cinema with me today
jas ooh of course i'll come what are we gonna watch?
zach i was thinking toy story 4 but we can see something else if you want?
jas nooo i love toy story!
zach okay i'll come to your room in about an hour and then we will go
jas okayyy byeeee
i get a quick shower and then put on a hoodie, some skinny jeans and my vans. by time i'm done i have 15 minutes before zach said he would come to my room so i just sit on my bed and scroll through my phone
i start looking at old pictures and i find all my modelling pictures, i really want to start doing it again but i can't because while i'm in minnesota i don't think it would be possible
i hear a light knock on my door so i shout come in and zach walks in. he's dressed in a pair of ripped black jeans and a blue denim jacket and i must say he does look kinda cute in it

"hey are you ready to go?" he asks and i nod "yeah" i grab my room key and follow him out
we walk to the cinema since it's only about a 15 minute walk away and when we get there we both pick out the snacks we want
i pull out my card but zach shakes his head and moves my hand back towards my pocket
"i'm paying" he simply says and i try to protest but he swipes his card before i can do anything about it
we get our tickets and then head into the screen we were placed in and find our seats
we were sat near the middle of all the seats but at the end sort of so we were positioned above the doorway
we made small talk until the film started and for most of the film zach would glance over at me and smile or whisper into my ear something about the film
about 20 minutes from the end i felt zach lightly tap my arm so i turned away from the screen to look at him
"i'm just gonna go to the toilet quickly" he whispers and i nod
i carry on watching the film and i start to wonder why zach's taking so long, after almost 10 minutes he comes back but doesn't sit down
"sorry i have to go" he whispers "why?" i ask "i can't explain right now but i promise i'll explain once i know what's going on" i nod and he puts his coat on before saying a quick goodbye and leaving
what the hell just happened?

i just got out of the film and messaged zach even though he kinda annoyed me just leaving like that, i looked really weird just sat there on my own but it was a good ending to the film
zach doesn't answer straight away like he usually does so i just put my phone into my pocket and leave the cinema
i decide to call jonah because i don't want to walk for 15 minutes on my own
"hey what's up?" jonah asks when he answers the call "can you pick me up from the cinema please?"
"yeah i'll come now, i thought you were walking back with zach?" jonah says, i hear him pick up his car keys and leave his room
"he had to leave before the end of the film, i genuinely have no idea why but he said he'll tell me more when he knows what's going on" i say and jonah's car starts
"that's weird, i'm driving now so i'm gonna end the call and i'll see you in a few minutes" he says "okay bye" i end the call, put my phone in my pocket and lean against the brick wall of the cinema building
just as jonah said, a few minutes later his car pulled into the parking lot and he waved at me so i went and got in his car
"thanks for coming i didn't wanna walk on my own" i say putting my seatbelt on "it's fine i was bored anyway" i chuckle and look out the window as jonah drives
the next day
zach yeah i'm fine, i'm sorry i had to leave, it was an emergency
jas what happened?
zach can i come to your dorm room?
jas yeah
zach okay see you in a few minutes
i turned my phone off and put it down on my bed. tate was out so i don't have to worry about her hearing whatever happened to zach
a few minutes later i hear a knock on the door and then straight after it zach walked in
"hey are you okay?" i ask, he nods and smiles "i'm sorry for leaving you yesterday"
"it's fine, what happened?"
"my mom went into labour!" he said happily and a bright smile exploded onto his face "oh my god! that's so great!"
"i know! she gave birth to my beautiful baby sister and they named her reese" zach said "awh that's so cute but you never mentioned your mom was pregnant" i say still shocked over the news
"i know, it just never came up in any of our conversations" he says and i nod
"do you have a picture of her?" i ask and he smiles even more than he already was "oh i have multiple!" he says, reaching into his pocket to get his phone out
he shows me about 15 pictures of her and i immediately fall in love with her
"awh zach she's so cute" i say taking zach's phone so i can look at the photos again "i know she is! i can't stop looking at these pictures" zach says and laughs at me looking at the pictures
i hand him his phone back and zach looks at the picture i left it on once more before smiling and putting his phone back in his pocket
"you can come to see her with me tomorrow after classes if you like" zach says "is that okay?" i ask not wanting to be a burden
"of course it is!" zach says smiling "then of course i'll come and see that adorable little face"
"jas! i know my face is great but you'll be meeting reese too" zach says with his hands on his hips
"oh my god" i say and lightly slap his arm while laughing at his stupidity
