Chapter 4: Katherine

Nicolas and I went with dad. He said he had something to tell us. I wonder who is his new girlfriend, how she looks. He had a huge heart , so he changes of lovers so fast.

He doesn't let me ride, so we have to take the bus. We left on Friday. Jennifer was busy so I didn't had to cancel her. We got for dinner some sandwiches with Dad. Made a firecamp, dad played the guitar, some old good songs. Then we drank a cocoa drink while we told dad fun stuff. On the am we played baseball, we always play baseball is our thing.

We were sleeping on the morning. The house is near a lake, so we swim must of time, but right now its frozen. I woke up early, I don't know why, dad was where the cut trunks where taken near the forest of the highway. He was talking on the cellphone. I showed myself and said:

-Who's the new lady.

-I'll call you later. Katherine, princess, you are up early.

-Yes, Nicolas is still sleeping.

-I need to talk with you. So we figure a way to tell your brother.

-Are you taking him to Disney?

-No, its about my personal life.

-What is it?

-I met someone. But this time I feel I am living in the kind of movies I make fun of. I feel it.

-Dad?

-I am marrying my new girlfriend.

-What? You got her pregnant?

-Katherine have a little respect.

-Just is the only explanation to that.

-What other explanation there is of love?

-You don't have to marry, you already did that and it didn't work.

-Is this about your mother?

-No.

-Katherine, I want to marry her.

-Why?

-Because I love her. Don't you want to marry someday?

-No, weddings are expensive.

-One day, you'll understand.

-I am not a little girl, dad, you cannot marry her.

Nicolas ran way into the forest. I went to look for him but I lost him. He is fast.

I started looking for him on the highway. I couldn't find him. There was a guy on a motorbike, he looked hot.

I came near him and tried to act sexy. When he looked up, I realized I embarrassed myself. It was Michael.

-Katherine?

-What are you doing here? Are you following me?

-No, I have a house here. Not everything goes around you. What's your excuse?

-My dad lives here.

-Ooo

-How long have you been on the highway?

-Fifteen minutes.

-By any chance, did you saw a blonde kid running?

-You lost your brother?

-How did you know I was talking about my brother?

-I guessed.

-You know forget it.

-Hey, Katherine, you obviously need help. Let me help you. What's your brother's name?

-Nicolas.

-What is his height.

-Lower than me.

-Okay, that doesn't mean you are a bad sister, it only means you don't know how much he heights. I am joking, humor is not bad, you know?

-I hate you.

We looked for some hours in the forest. I was incredibly rude and mean to him, so he would leave me. He didn't.

-Your father leaves in the house near the lake?

-Yes.

-My father has always wanted that house, he says one day he will get it.

-Good luck, trying.

-So, you come a lot?

-Okay Michael, let me break it to you. I don't like you so you can stop whatever you are doing, its clearly not working. You and I , never going to happen.

-You know, clever girl, you claim that you are too different from me, but you and I are pretty similar. You judge pretty hard based on rumors and reputation without letting yourself to know them, for all you know I am a heartless boy who plays with feelings and doesn't care about anyone else but himself.

-Is that your move with girls?, Am I supposed to fall for that?

-Yes, Katherine, that is my move with every girl. I say stuff like that to have sex, then I leave them and then they call me a jerk.

-That sounds very accurate.

-You know what? , Colhearted, let's focus on finding your brother because I want to go home.

Nicolas was sat on a trunk. Michael reached him and said

-Hi, I am Michael Douglas.

-You are not Michael Douglas, he is an actor.

-I know, sometimes I wished I was Michael Douglas. You must be Nicolas.

-Yes, who are you?

-Michael.

-Is that your real name?

-Yes.

-You got your sister pretty worried. She looked for you in the entire forest.

-It is not a big forest.

-For her it is.

-Not really, she runs a lot pretty big distances.

-Well, she is here. Why don't you go with her?

-Because she knew and didn't tell me.

-Look Nicolas. The way I see this, you can either run or scape but that doesn't change anything, plus you don't let yourself know the truth. Man, she was very worried about you, she accepted my help and she hates me.

-Why?, you look like a very cool person.

-Right.

When we arrived at the house, I letted Nicolas entered and I said to Michael.

-Thanks for helping me despite my acctitude and convincing my brother, it was very cool. I really appreciate it.

-You heard?

He said, turning to Nicolas.

-Yes I heard everything Michael Douglas.

Then he turned at me by saying

-You know what I and Douglas have in common?

-What?

-We both have things for girls called Katherine.

I smiled.
