Eddie Kaspbrack. An anxious, scared loser, but also your best friend. You both were close, spending all the time you could together. The losers joked that you two were basically conjoined at the hip because they had never seen one of you without the other. That's why you were taking the recent separation so hard. You've never felt so afraid before, so alone. He wouldn't even look at you after the incident.

Everything tore your heart in half, from waking up and seeing pictures of the two of you on the wall, to walking outside with an empty feeling always lingering. It felt like you were left on an island by yourself. All of the losers were split up, trying to move on by themselves. As much as you were trying to, you couldn't move on. It was like every day you were trudging through quicksand.

You felt like the only way to fix this was to actually see him again. Even if he told you that he hated you, that he despised you, you need some sort of closure with your best friend. However, you weren't sure how you were going to get to him. The day after the incident, you attempted to ask his mom if you could see him, but she ended up giving you a nasty look and saying it was your fault for the pain he'd gone through before shutting the door in your face.

In the moment, you were startled, you never felt that frightened around his mom before. Mrs. Kaspbrak was always fond of you, knowing how good of friends you were with Eddie. She knew that everything was strictly platonic between the two of you, and you truly cared about him. She knew that you would remind him to take his pills (not that he really needed a reminder) and be cautious of the places you went. Now, she didn't hesitate to cut you off.

This made you wary for a while, afraid that if you stepped foot on their property, she'd be running after you with a broom. Tonight, you didn't care about that. You made a plan. You knew that the window to their hall bathroom was always unlocked. It was a bit weird for the worry-oriented family but you never questioned it.

You managed to stick one leg through the window before you heard anything. Frozen in place, you strained your ears to hear where the noise was coming from and who exactly it was. If you were caught by his mother, you might as well be strangled. You were prepared to throw yourself out of the window until you heard the footsteps disappear away from the door.

Cautiously, you slid into the room, taking a mental note of the things that could make noise around you. You felt relieved, step one was already over with. That relief, however, didn't last very long. Without warning, the door handle to the bathroom started to turn, making you jump into the shower, hiding behind the curtains. When the light turned on, you were trying your best to stick to the side of the wall, praying that they couldn't see your shadow. Through the crack of the curtain, you practically sighed when you saw Eddie instead of his mother. When his hand started to travel to his zipper, though, you panicked.
