It has been a month already but the fatigue that plagued our bodies was still overwhelming. All of the loser club members handled the tiredness in their own way.
Stanley and I would spend most of our time together even before this whole clown incident. Fatigue isn't going to stop us from being close to one another.
With a bowl of fresh popcorn in my hands, I tried not to fall flat on my face as I ran up the stairs and into my room. Stanley was having a great time napping in my bed, face burrowed in my pillows.
"Wake up Stan," I commanded, pushing the door shut with the heel of my foot. "I have popcorn."
Stanley groaned in response, opening an eye to peek at the popcorn bowl in my hand.
"Ah," I scolded when he tried sneaking his hand into the bowl, "Move over first, there's no more room on the bed with you hogging it all."
"If you're so bothered by it then just lay over me."
Turning my head, I tried to hide my bright red face with my free hand.
"Crushing hard, huh?"
I'll kill Richie if he told Stanley about my crush on him. "Shut up Stan. Now move over or you'll regret it," I bit back, sending him my best deadly glare.
Stanley completely ignored my warning and smirked, stretching out his limbs to cover my bed. Biting the inside of my cheek, I tried to keep my nerves to a minimum as I set the popcorn bowl on my bedside table.
"You asked for this," I tried to warn him one more time but it just resulted in an eye roll from Stanley.
I didn't hesitate to completely lay on top of him, my back pressed into his chest as I laid diagonally to cover him.
"I didn't know there's a feeling like this," Stanley whispered as I leaned over to grab the popcorn bowl.
Nerves laced my body at his simple statement, my mind reeling for any explanations. "Like what?" I asked quietly, my voice trembling slightly.
"Being suffocated." Stanley retorted, causing my jaw to drop.
"Shut up!" I yelled, purposely spilling some of the popcorn on his face. "You know if you act like that, you'll never get a significant other," I blurted out, heat instantly rising to my face.
"Don't spill the popcorn!" Stanley scolded me, bringing a hand up to wipe the popcorn off his face. "Besides, I don't need a significant other if I have you."
I was so shocked that I couldn't stop the question from leaving my mouth. "Do you like me?"
Stanley scoffed, "Isn't it obvious? Ever since that clown showed up, I felt like I needed to tell you. Seeing you in danger scared me to death a-and I was thinking about what I'd do if I lost you-"
"Stan, it's okay," I cut him off, moving over and turning my head so I could look him in the eye. I knew this was a sensitive topic, so I spoke quietly. "I'm here now and I'm not leaving."
"I know." He smiled, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"I l-like you too," I stammered.
"I know," Stanley repeated, causing my eyebrows to furrow in confusion. "Richie told me," He explained, "He knew that I liked you too so he told me."
I pressed my palms to my face in frustration, "I swear I'll kill him."
Stanley chuckled, the vibrations coursing through my body.
"Hey (Y/n)?" Stanley said, causing me to lock eyes with him again. "Just so you know, your bed could be more comfortable than me. I can barely breathe."
