Stanley Blurb: You Forgot Something

"Oh shit," You cursed, your hand shooting out to catch yourself before you fell. Your hand luckily caught onto the corner of the kitchen counter and pulled yourself back up. You took off without even giving yourself a second to breathe, slipping on your shoes haphazardly.

Stanley watched from the living room as you frantically ran around trying to pick up your belongings. "Where are you going?" He finally asked when you paused momentarily to fix the back of your shoe.

"I'm really sorry babe," You said, sending him an apologetic look, "My work called and asked me to cover a shift." You almost cheered when your shoe slipped on. "I'll be back in a few hours and we can watch some movies."

Right before you opened the door, Stanley spoke up. "I think you forgot something."

"Right, sorry babe," You mumbled quickly, twisting around and rushing towards him. Before Stanley could do anything, you planted your lips on his. Although he was shocked, Stanley relaxed against you. There was a familiar bubbly feeling in his chest. Even though you two were married, every time you kissed him it felt like heaven.

Stanley was ready to complain when you pulled away, his head following yours before he reminded himself that you had to go. Stanley's cheeks were pink as he smiled awkwardly at you, his hand extending in front of him. When you looked at his hand, it all dawned on you.

"I meant this, but thanks," Stanley chuckled, "Although, I wouldn't mind that being a routine."

It was silly but you quickly swiped your wallet out of his hand as your embarrassment settled in. Stanley felt his smile growing wider as you averted your eyes and stumbled on your words.

"I love you. I'll have the movie set up when you get back."

You nodded and turned away, rushing back to the door to leave. Before you left, you made sure to call out to Stanley. "I love you too."
