Ignoring his protests, you dragged Bill to your bed, whining about how you couldn't sleep without him. Your husband was so engrossed in his writing that you had to force him to leave his desk and sit in the bed. Even in your bed, Bill refused to fully lay down, sitting upright with a pillow behind him to support his back. He was too invested in his book to stop now.

As the minutes ticked by, however, his mind was beginning to wander to you. Although he was complaining when you pulled him from his work at his desk, Bill couldn't help but be relaxed as the weight of your head pressed into his shoulder.

His eyes trailed down to look at you, careful not to startle you by moving his head. Your chest rose and fell methodically as you slept. Bill's mind was slowly consumed by you and his chest was swelling with love and admiration as you leaned against him. He felt a bit frustrated at himself for refusing to leave his desk, now realizing how much he was missing by staying up all night blinded by the computer screen in front of him.

The only story he cared about at the moment was his story with you. He kissed the top of your head before cautiously shuffling his laptop from his legs and onto the bedside table. You whined when Bill started to reposition you to lay down, making sure your head landed on the pillow.

"Shh," Bill whispered, "I'm sorry for waking you up, love. You can go back to sleep."

You were half expecting for Bill to leave again but instead, he laid next to you, wrapping his arms around your body to pull you into his chest. You happily cuddled closer, nestling your head further into his chest.

"I love you," Bill whispered, his words beginning to slur from exhaustion.

"I love you too," You smiled, drifting off in his warm embrace.
