It felt like the room was suffocating you. Bill's back was facing you, isolating you to your side of his bed. It was silly because Bill was still mad from the events at Neibolt but he was too embarrassed about how he reacted to face you. He was enraged by Richie's comment about Georgie. He had no right to say it, but Bill also had no right to punch him in the face as he did. Richie was his friend.

Now, it was like he had no one.

But there you were, lying next to him like always. Bill felt like he didn't deserve it. He didn't deserve your support or comfort. He didn't deserve your kindness. He didn't deserve you.You didn't care what Bill thought. Even if he ignored you to the best of his ability, you would be by his side no matter what happens. Maybe it was stupid, your mind too clouded by the silly thing you called love. Bill might not know about it, but you would love him to the moon and back.

You weren't focused on the fight between his friends, the punch that caused everything to fall apart. You were focused on Bill. How he felt, how he showed so much vulnerability. Bill wanted to be strong, he wanted to act strong. In reality, however, it seemed like he was breaking down. Piece by piece he was crumbling into his guilt and insecurity.

You saw it the day after you heard Georgie disappeared. Bill was his big brother, of course he felt responsible for not keeping him safe. When Bill spoke in front of the losers about his home not being easy to walk in, your heart collapsed. He wasn't one to speak about his feelings, especially not right now, but he felt like he needed to explain himself. He would do anything for Georgie, even if that meant dying.
