Having a good looking boyfriend is not the easiest thing in the world. Not only did other girls practically drool over him, but it definitely didn't help you with your own self-image. You started dating because you both liked each other. The rest of the losers thought it was fate, making bets on when you two would finally realize each other's feelings. You were overjoyed when you started dating, your self-confidence was the highest it had ever been. As time went on that confidence started to fade.

Mike is very attractive, any girl at the school would attest to that and they didn't stop bringing it up. At first, it was just girls making googly eyes at him but then they started to gossip. They started to ask how you got such a hot boyfriend and why he chose to date you. Like any other normal person, you started asking yourself those questions.

Of course, the answer to the first question was obvious to you. Other than genetics, Mike's muscles were the result of his hard work at his grandfather's farm. The second question was the one you had trouble with answering. Why did he choose you? What led him to like you enough to date you? Mike had no trouble in answering your question.

The moment you asked him why he was dating you, he felt like he had been dunked in an ice bath. He felt stupid after. He should have known you were feeling that way. Your self-doubt was not new to him. Mike picked up on it after you started relentlessly making self-deprecating jokes with Richie. He tried to lean you off of it, worried that the more you say it the more you'll believe yourself.

He was right. The words of your classmates along with the words of your own filled your head, questioning whether you were the right person to be dating someone so perfect. Part of you thought Mike could do so much better than you and he should find someone that would be perfect for him. You wanted to be his s/o desperately, but you didn't want your own feelings holding him back from being the best person he could be.

Mike was quick to protest, saying that you made him the happiest person in the world. You were the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. It might have been a weird confession since you were only 16 but you felt comforted.

Mike didn't hold back when it came to complimenting you. He did it all the time, even when you were hanging out with the rest of the losers. Richie made a point to gag every time he said something about you, which would only result in a slap on the arm from Eddie. Most of the losers didn't mind anyway. It was almost like they were used to it by now.

Your boyfriend was set on relieving at least most of your self-doubt one way or another. The constant compliments were something that he used to try and reverse the damage you did to yourself. He wanted to take the things that you said to yourself through self-deprecating jokes and switch it around, only showering you in compliments in love. He felt like it was his duty as your boyfriend and he didn't back down.

You were finishing your English homework, shoulders slumped, and back leaning against the chair you were propped on. The tapping of the pencil was deaf to you, your mind only focused on the grammar sheet in front of you.

Mike was laying on your bed staring at the ceiling as the seconds ticked by, waiting until you finished your homework to finally spend some quality time with you. You were taking a pretty long time to finish. Five minutes turned to ten and Mike was still alone on the bed, his eyes wandering around the room only to land on you.

His eyes traced over your form, his heart thumping as he slowly scanned over the features of your face. He felt so damn lucky to actually call you his, to have the opportunity to wrap his arms around you tightly and press his lips against yours. God, you were so beautiful to him, even as you blankly stared at the worksheet in front of you. He didn't know how you couldn't see it. You were the prettiest person he had ever laid eyes on.

"Do you think the moon is jealous of how pretty you are?" The question left his lips before he could think about it but he was so glad that it did, seeing your hand freeze as the sound of the tapping pencil stopped. You started to become flustered, mouth opening in closing as if you were a fish out of water.

When you were able to come back to your senses, you pouted at your boyfriend. "Mike you know I have to finish my homework."

Mike sighed in response, propping himself up on his elbows to see you better. Your pout made him want to get out of the bed and just kiss you- "So I can't compliment you?

You let out a small whine, throwing your head back in frustration as you turned back in your seat. The urge to rip the grammar sheet to pieces was growing, your hands twitching at the thought. All you wanted to do was be surrounded in your boyfriend's arms.

"You can take a break baby."

Oh god. All common sense was thrown out of the window the second that pet name slipped his lips. In an instant, you were out of your chair and practically jumping into his arms, curling into his chest.

"Oof," Mike let out before starting to laugh, "You should warn me before you attack me like that."

"Shut up and cuddle me," You mumbled into his chest, body relaxing the moment his arms wrapped around you.
