Ethan fell in a daze. His body was locked, numb, and burning all at the same time. All of his senses were going haywire. He could hear the faint sound of Marcus yelling his name. Now he was in free fall, for what felt like an eternity. Then, he slammed into the ice ramp, before sliding down backward. His body wasn't reacting to him at all. He looked up, Curtis was standing over him, a smug look on his face. "You ain't getting away from me this time kid," he said.
Ethan felt himself being flipped over, as then handcuffed. He was then picked up and dragged to a big swat like vehicle. The Icer in front of him, opened it up. Abraham was sitting inside, and when he looked up, horror hit his face. They threw Ethan inside, and closed the door. "Oh no, they got you too kid," said Abraham. His face and arms were bleeding, cuts going down both arms.
"Please tell me the others kept going," said Abraham. Ethan looked over, and nodded. "T-They.... W-went ahead," he struggled to say. Abraham got up, and leaned Ethan up, and sat him on the bench. "Relax kid, you'll need your strength," said Abraham. Ethan rested his head back against the wall. His body tingled in pain.
After about 30 minutes, the doors opened again. Curtis was standing there with two agents. He was misting, icy fog flowing from body. "We're almost set boys, just need to ask you few questions," said Curtis. Ethan and Abraham noticed that his injuries were healed. The agents grabbed the two Pyros and threw them out of the truck. The fell on their knees onto the dirt ground.
Ethan and Abraham saw a red helicopter come down, Curtis walked towards it in a light jog. "Now what?," asked Abraham. Ethan wasn't excited about why this helicopter was here, but there were too many agents and a group of Icers here to do anything.
They saw Curtis talking to two women, then they walked in their direction. Abraham squinted his eyes so that he could see who it was more clearly. It didn't take long for the three man group to reach Ethan and Abraham. They looked up, standing there was Christiana, Curtis, and none other than Evelynn Smoke. Ethan instantly recognized her from that press conference.
"So, two, two was all you could get," said Evelynn unimpressed. Abraham glared, his eyes glowing with anger. Ethan looked at Christiana, noticing her staring at him intently. Curtis spit some blood out, "Do I look like I'm in the mood for one of your pissy attitudes tonight, be glad you have any of them at all," he said. Evelynn looked at Curtis, who didn't show any signs that he was kidding. She turned back to her Pyro audience. She eyed them closely.
"Gentlemen, let's start this situation of easy shall we, tell me where the others are and where they're heading?," asked Evelynn. Ethan stared at her, not saving a word. "You know, my mind is fading right now," said Abraham. Curtis kicked Abraham to the ground, and pinned him. "STOP IT," yelled Ethan.
"We don't have time for your games, answer the question," said Curtis. Abraham spit at him. "You can go rot, so if you're gonna stop wasting my time and finish the job then get it over with!!," said Abraham. Evelynn spoke up, "Enough Curtis," she said. She turned to Ethan, who was staring at her with a calm expression. His eyes were glowing, a low burning fury in them.
"I've always been fascinated by Pyro eyes, the way they glow like that, giving away your emotional state," said Evelynn. She bent down, kneeling in front of Ethan. "Why are you so angry at me?," she asked. Christiana stepped closer to Evelynn.
"I'm not, I'm alert is all," said Ethan. Evelynn analyzed Ethan closely, taking in his facial features. "You look just like your father Ethan," she said. Ethan glared as the words came out of her mouth. "I did my research on you, and believe or not, your father had my interest for years," she said. Abraham managed to sit up, eyeing Evelynn. "He was one of the most powerful Pyros that I've ever seen, and he was a good man," said Evelynn.
"But he had a tendency to be defiant, go against the things that challenged his beliefs, and people got hurt, John has the same tendencies," said Evelynn.
"This attitude, this need to go against the law, is what got your father killed," she said. Ethan jumped at Evelynn before he could stop himself. The agents around them aimed their weapons, and Curtis lifted his hand. "Don't try it kid," said Curtis. Evelynn held a hand up. Ethan was only inches away from Evelynn, his eyes blazing. She could feel the heat rising.
"I need to stop John from making the same mistake, he's messing with something he is not prepared for, and from what i can see here, he's a danger to all of us," said Evelynn, "Tell me where he's going." Abraham gritted his teeth, trying not to launch forward. "I have nothing for you," said Ethan, his tone low and angry. Evelynn closed her eyes, then stood up. "Take them away, they'll break soon enough," she said. "Don't bet on it," said Abraham.
They grabbed Ethan and Abraham, and put them back in the truck. Evelynn turned and caught Ethan's stare. His gaze seemed to burn through her skull. He didn't break eye contact, not even when they closed the door. The truck drove away, Evelynn turned going to see what she could find. In the truck, Ethan stared at the floor. "Hang in there kid, John will handle this," said Abraham. Ethan looked up, and nodded. He certainly hoped so.
They rode for a few hours, until they finally stopped. They opened the door, and pulled Ethan and Abraham out. They were in front of a huge facility. The two Pyros were taken in, where they were patched up, checked out, and processed. They were held there for about four days, before being moved once again.
Ethan and Abraham were walked out to the courtyard, where a large group of other Pyros were gathered. "Where are they taking us?," asked Ethan. Abraham shook his head, "No idea kid," he said. Ethan turned and noticed buses pulling up. Four pulled up, then an Icer came up barking orders. They were all put into different lines, and herded onto the buses. Ethan had an uneasy feeling.
He couldn't believe that he was actually a prisoner now, everything he had done up until this point, seemed to be for nothing. But he knew that he couldn't think like that, not now. He had his family to get back to, his friends needed him. And like Abraham, John would find a way to get him and Abraham out. He looked over at Abraham, who looked at him, and nodded.
Ethan nodded back, and looked out the window. He didn't know how John was going to do it, but he had to have faith in him. Ethan wasn't about to break, wasn't going to let this situation hold him down. Whatever was in store for him, he would face it head on. But what he didn't know was that a task such as this, was going to be a lot harder than he'd ever imagine.
