the sun wasn't the one to wake me up this morning, but the overly energetic three year old did. he was bouncing all over my bed screaming at me to wake up. times like these made me grouchier than normal, especially because he woke me up two hours before my alarm was meant to go off. "onee-chan! play me a song!" he demanded stomping his foot on my back. i grunted with pain and blew the hair out of my face. "onee-chan!!" he whined jumping up and down on my bed, making me bounce slightly. "kyo let me sleep!" i pouted looking sideways at the ball of energy. "no! i want wake up with me!" he furiously pouted. my face couldn't stop the small smile on my lips, that was the first song i wrote. it's kyo's favorite.

i pushed myself up and nodded, light chocolatey locks fell around my face. "yay!" kyo squealed and ran out of my room. i giggled pulling my hair into a messy bun and followed him. my eyes fell onto him sitting next to the teal grand piano by the small bay window. kyo was on his orange cushion that he always sat on while i played, his crossed legs bouncing with excitement like butterfly wings. i took my seat on the matching fading teal stool and lifted the cover off the keys. i glanced down at the little boy as my fingers danced on the keys, a soft melody filling the dark home with lovely warm notes.

it's hard to make a change
think of all the lies we've been told

i saw him from the corner of my eye singing along. my heart swelled with happiness but also pain, this song wasn't meant to be happy.

everything we have can all be gone before you know
and all i wanna say
is that we've been asleep for far too long

but it made kyo happy..really happy. so i'll keep singing this song, every time he asks.

i hope we can find another place to belong
so don't go, come close

and wake up with me

"alright kyo, remember today i'll be late. i have work, so-" i paused when i heard kyo finish my sentence. "be good for mori-sensai.." he pouted as he fidgeted with his fingers. i kissed him on the head as a goodbye and left to make my way to school. if i can recall i was told to pick a club today, but all i was interested in was music, the piano.

my legs guided me through the streets until i ended up at karasuno. it was only my second day so i wasn't too down on myself for not knowing where the faculty room was. i glanced at the gym doors i just passed by, maybe i could ask one of them. they were really nice yesterday. i shook my head when i heard the sound of ball hitting the ground. i turned my heels to walk away when i was met with sharp blue eyes and a cute blonde girl. "oh airie, good morning." kiyoko smiled at me. "good morning, need help carrying anything?" i stifled a small giggle seeing the two of them carrying large boxes. "thank you, yachi you can give her one." she turned to the flushes blonde. "o-okay!" she squeaked out and let me take one for her.

"did you want to stop by for practice again?" kiyoko asked me as we walked towards the metal doors. "mm no, i was just lost again. i was going to ask for help to the faculty room." i spoke honestly. "oh! i know where that is!" the girl kiyoko called yachi piped up. "could you possibly take me?" i turned to look at her with hopeful eyes. her face flushed red as she nodded slowly. before i could thank her i was distracted by the sound of metal doors opening. "ah kiyoko! did you get them?" coach ukai grinned as we stepped in. "i did." she smiled back. i copied her motion of dropping the box on the ground as the team surrounded them. "airie you came back!" i felt a happy voice near my ear. i turned to see hinata beaming at me. i didn't know what to say so i just smiled back at him.

"oi! airie! good morning!" i turned to see nishinoya waving at me from the doors. "good morning nishinoya," i calmly waved back, he walked over to me with a frown, "come on airie, i told ya to call me noya." i nodded my head knowingly as he got beside me. "oh look someone his height." a snicker was heard behind me. i turned to see tsukishima pushing up his glasses. "what did you say?" nishinoya growled as fire erupted from behind him. before anything could happen further daichi stood in between them with an annoyed look. "can we listen to kiyoko and coach now." that seemed to snap everyone's attention in shape.

"thank you," coach ukai mumbled. "our lovely managers picked up all these papers from the office on the schools that we'll be training with, courtesy of takeda." he smiled gesturing his hands to the boxes. who's takeda? the team groaned in realization of what they'll be doing. "yeup! you got homework." coach ukai grinned mischievously. as the boys were grabbing out papers from the boxes i turned my attention on the blonde, "is it alright if you can take me now?" i think i startled her because she seemed alarmed. "oh y-yeah!" she spoke a little too loud. i watched as she bowed to kiyoko then to coach ukai, letting the two know she'll be taking me to the faculty room. we were making our leave when i heard someone familiar shout to me, "i'll see you later airie!!!" the excited voice of nishinoya caused some teasing from his teammates. i wasn't sure why but it was cute how red her turned.

"so-so i never introduced myself!" the blonde nervously smiled. "me either, airie chisake, but you can call me airie." i smiled extending my hand out to her. my actions seemed to calm her down as she shook my hand back, "hitoka yachi!" she exclaimed. our walk to the faculty room was littered with her telling me all about the team and what those papers were for. also with me explaining that i needs to find a club to join. she let me know that the volleyball team was going to tokyo for a week long training camp with some of the best high school volleyball teams. and the papers were bits of information they gathered on the teams, such as captains and the players. i didn't really understand much when she mentioned some types of plays, but i did know the positions of volleyball. thanks to certain past friends.

"we're here!" she pointed to the faculty door. i nodded politely as we opened the door. "takeda-sensai!" yachi waved her arms around until a man with glasses noticed her. "yachi? is everything okay?" he tilted his head kindly as he approached us. "yes, but airie needed to find a club to join?" she smiled. "oh! well i can help with that!" he spoke happily and grabbed out a bunch of forms. "is there anything you're interested in?" he looked up at from under his glasses. "i really enjoy playing the piano," i smiled seeing yachi's eye light up. takeda looked up at me stunned, "i think i know a club you can join!" a wave of nervously plummeted into my stomach. yachi left us to go back to the gym to continue her assistant manager duties while takeda escorted me to the music room. "uh-uh ms. honda?" i could see him tense up, he seemed nervous as he stared at the back of a woman with short, shiny black hair. "ah mr. takeda! how can i help you?" she turned around to show her warm smile and matching back iris'. i noticed takeda jump slightly as his ears got red, a small smile perched on my lips.

"this is airie chisake, i think she'd like to join your piano club." he gulped and smiled. the woman he referred as ms. honda gasped and rushed over to me, engulfing me in her slim arms. "is that true?" she seemed like crying. "yes," i whispered slightly nervous still. she then turned to takeda and wrapped her arms around his neck, bringing him in close. "thank you! you've saved my club!" she was bouncing with happiness. in almost let my giggles escape seeing how blissful takeda was. "it was no big deal," he shyly waved bye and left. i turned back to see ms. honda beaming at me. "i have to ask!" she exclaimed. my gut twisted. "are you mirai chisake's daughter?!" her glistening eyes danced as mine felt like shrinking. "mhm," i nodded slowly. "you look a lot like her in her youth, sad she isn't playing anymore." i scoffed slightly at her words.

"can i hear you play?" my head snapped up at her sudden change in topic. "yes! i'd love to play for you!" i beamed brightly and moved over to the piano. i watched as she pulled a chair closer to me and waited patiently for me to play. what to play though? i don't think playing an original song would show my skills- i felt my eyes twinkle. i know the perfect piece. i took in a deep breath and started to play, the promise by michael nyman.

i saw from the corner of my eyes ms. honda gasping and smiling. i had a good feeling about her.
