"are you ready?" i knelt down time be somewhat eye level with kyo. he was shuffling his feet against the wood floor, his pout very present. "i promise to get ice cream afterwards?" i smiled deeply seeing his features perk up. "promise!" he beamed tackling me into a hug. "of course, now we can't be late for daycare okay. hurry and get your shoes on." he nodded at my words before running to the front door. standing back up i made sure my karasuno uniform wasn't wrinkling. after smoothing out some spots on my skirt, and hearing a small voice shout at me, i headed to the front door.

"onee-chan! onee-chan!" kyo pulled on the hem of my skirt as i was locking our homes front door. i hummed in a response before tucking the keys into my school bag. "are you going to be far from me?" he brought his hand to mine and gripped it tightly. i shook my head with a small smile, "i'll be two streets away from you." i knelt down and wagged my finger in front of his nose, "so that means if i hear you're pulling hair or prancing you're teacher i'll be there in three seconds!" i playfully warned remembering some of his previous antics. "three seconds! that's too fast!" he gasped and flailed his free arm in the air. "when it comes to you, i'll never be slow." he beamed from my words gripping my hand tighter.

the rest of the walk to the small, but cozy, daycare was filled with kyo asking questions about almost everything he saw. miyagi wasn't as overly packed as tokyo, but it still had tall buildings and people crowding some crosswalks. "you must be kyo chisake?" a woman looking to be in her mid twenties knelt down in front of us as the doors entry bell rang again after the door had closed. kyo insticully hid behind my legs. "introduce yourself," i whispered and ran my hand through his mop of brown hair. "i'm...i'm kyo chisake," he mumbled and took a small step out from behind me. "i'm three..and..and i really like onii-chan's waffles she makes me every sunday morning! and i also like that cartoon with the fighting kids who stop bad guys in the night time!" kyo suddenly popped out of his shell and kept forward with his hands pressed to his hips.

"i can tell he won't miss me." a sad smile made its way to my lips. the lady from before placed her hand on my shoulder, "you're such a brave young girl, i promise to take good care of him." she praised me. out of respect i thanked her, keeping the harbor of dread for the words brave young girl in my thoughts. "after school i'll be back to pick him up. but every-" she stopped me by speaking over me with a smile. "every tuesday and thursday you work so you'll be by later than normal. it's alright chisake," her soft words made me relax a little. i bowed to leave but she stopped me again, my eyes fixated on the rain clouds hovering above before looking back to her. "i'm sorry, i never introduced myself. i'm hanaka mori, i'll be kyo's teacher." i smiled back and thanked her once more before taking my leave.

karasuno was really two streets away, luckily convient. but the unlucky side of my life kicked in as the rain started to pour down on me, hopelessly using my hand as a cover due to the lack of an umbrella. as i entered the gates i could tell from the gaggle of students still around — with their umbrellas — that class hasn't started. i hurried under a slim roof over a walkway to what i presumed to be the gym doors for cover. i looked around, clutching my blue school bag realizing i didn't know where my first class was. "you look a little lost," my body turned around swiftly from the sudden voice behind me. "you don't have an umbrella?" one of the three boys pouted softly, and confused. i nodded my head a little, "i'm new here, a transfer." i confessed. "wow in the middle of the year?" the one with short brown hair raised a brow.

"why don't you come inside the gym, you'll be warmer in their and by the time we finish practice i'm sure the rain will die down." a boy with silver hair and a kind smile stepped forward. i wonder what sport their practicing? i know nekoma was big into volleyball, i wonder if karasuno was too. "thank you, i'd really appreciate that." i smiled with a small blush from their generosity. the three froze for a second just staring at me before the boy with the short brown hair lead the way. "here use this to dry off a little," the one with the obvious longer brown hair smiled at me as he handed me a towel. i bowed as a thank you and began to scrunch the bottoms of my wet hair. "i'm daichi sawamura, third year and captain of the volley ball team, and you can call me daichi everyone does!" he held out his hand with a very kind grin. "airie chisake, second year. and please call my airie." I smiled back, so this school is also very into volleyball i guess. he opened his mouth to ask me why i offered my first name instead of the proper way, which is calling me by my last name. everyone asks that when i meet them, but the answer never changes. i refuse to be called the name of a person who i did not care for.
