two years later

"onee it's snowing!!" kyo raced to the front door with his winter jacket in his arms. "ah! kyo! hang on!" i stood up from the dining table, my college books and papers flying across the surface. "i'll go with him," ichigo slowly followed him out the door, his scarf wrapped tightly around his neck. i let out a sigh and sat back down, my mind was already too occupied with my school work and lesson plan that i didn't notice the snow covering the street just outside.

i propped my elbow up on the table and laid my head in my palm. i wonder if it's snowing where you are yuu. i smiled to myself thinking about the libero who took my heart to brazil with him. as i was packing up my things i thought about the promise we made before he left.

"wait for me"

our voices rang in my head sweetly. although it's been two years my feelings have never changed for the boy. odd as it is, we've only talked a handful of times in the past years. i haven't heard from him in five months now, but i haven't spent my time just waiting by the phone this whole time. i actually got into an early start college, with my grades being so good i graduated early. and i've taken my piano lesson's to a higher level and now i'm a music teacher at ichigo's middle school.

he hates it, apparently all his friends always drool all over the new hot music teacher. even though ichigo hated the fact that i was working in his school, i loved seeing him thrive in an actual school environment instead of homeschooling. it took his drill sergeant of a mother a couple times to come around, but when she came down to visit ichigo in our home, she changed her mind. along with changing her mind about the home we lived in. if i remember correctly she said, "a growing teen boy needs his own room- is this kitchen even big enough for a chef?"

then, a week later, we were moved into a two story home in a gated community. i sighed, a sweat drop fell down the side of my head, his mother really is too much. thankfully she agreed to no extra staff, the house was enough. now ichigo and kyo had their own rooms adjacent one another on the bottom floor and i had a large room on the top floor. it was nice, and after some time the three of us made it feel like a cozy home.

my eyes fluttered from my paper to the window, i could see kyo and ichigo playing with the snow in our front yard. a smile pulled at my lips, i'm going to join them. i quickly threw on my beige pea coat and nude scarf, slipped my boots on and ran out the front door.

"onee!" kyo giggled as he twirled around. ichigo smiled at me brightly, his nose turning red. i picked up a bundle of snow and tossed it at the teen, he gasped and did the same back. the three of us ended up in a snowball fight until the night sky came up. "i can make dinner tonight," ichigo offered already entering the kicthen. "hamburger steak! ichi make your hamburger steak!" kyo demanded jumping up and down. "it's your favorite huh?" ichigo smugly grinned at me. "no, waffle cake is still your favorite, right kyo?" i leaned down to kyo and pinched his cheek. he just blankly stared at me, "no, i chi's hamburger steak is my favorite onee." he said calmly. ichigo held back his laugh while i hung my head low, a little part of me dying.

"i'll go get started on dinner then!" ichigo chirped disappearing into the kitchen, kyo running after him. i shook my head smiling, kyo love ichigo so much, too much. i giggled at my own comment and moved back to the table to continue my school work. "hm?" i glanced at my phone when it started to ring, "isn't it a little late to be calling officer sumawara?" i chuckled into the phone.

"why do you always say it like that?" he whined.

"it's funny," i smiled.

"just call me daichi airie," he sounded like he was rubbing his forehead.

"alright, what's up?" i finally asked as i continued on my work.

"i'm gonna come over, you're going to head to the clock tower downtown." he said as a slam was heard in the background, his car door.
