When Harry looked into Snape's mind he saw a crisp Autumn day, he had to be no more than 15.

As he read a small group of Gryffindor boys approached him, and one girl, who had jet black hair and was attached to the side of a young Remus Lupin.

"Oh looked boys, I think Sevey here good use a good joke today, don't you think James?" Sirius asked as the girl with black hair looked at the boy.

"James Potter, don't you...." Her threat was too late however, for James had already had his wand out and had turned the young Snape upside down.

And then the witch drew her own wand, and sent the wand of James flying through the air, as Snape fell from the air. The witch quickly hurried from Remus's side and ran towards Snape.

"Are you okay Sev?" She asked as she help him into the sitting position.

"Yea." He whispered as he rubbed his head, the four Gryffindors watching in wonder.

"These can't be..."

"The boys I have told you about..."

Before he could finish his sentence she had whipped around, the faces of the boys going from wonder to fear. "So this is the little test rat for your jokes, You are lucky I don't hex you right now! If I ever see or hear that you four hooligans so much as point a wand at my brother again I swear you will regret the day you did." She sounded furious, the four boys backing away as the witch once again turned her attention back to Snape.

"i swear, those boys are a bunch of first years." She hissed as she smiled down at Snape.

"Enough!" He yelled as he pushed Harry from his mind, and turned his back towards the table of glowing potions. "Your lessons are over, leave now." He hissed as Harry slowly backed away.

Once he was gone Snape crumbled to the ground, tears welling in his eyes as he whispered, "oh [Y/N]."

At Christmas break Harry sat at the kitchen table alone, his mind unable to unsee the black haired witch who threatened to hex his father and friends. As he pondered about her, Remus entered the room, just the man Harry wanted to see, "Lupin, can I ask you a question?"

"Yes Harry."

"Did Professor Snape have a sister?"

The color in Remus's face drained as he looked at Harry, "what did you..."

"When Professor Snape was trying to teach me how to block my mind, I may have entered his..."

"And you saw [Y/N]?"

"Yes. What happened to her?"

Remus took a seat across from the young boy and looked into his green eyes, "She was in the same year as us, and sorted into the Gryffindor house. She was Lily's best friend, and we later found out near the end of our first year, Severus Snape's twin sister. When your father and godfather would pick on him, they always made sure she wasn't around. We had also formed a friendship with her, but she eventually found out."

"When Dad levitated him upside down." Harry whispered as Lupin looked at the table.

"Yes, after that she was distant, from everyone. She hung out primarily with Severus, and didn't speak to any of us."

"In the memory she was attached to your side, where you two..."

"Yes Harry. We were, however when she found out we took a break, and rekindled our love when your father apologized. After that we all were almost friends. Severus however was jealous of James for dating Lily, but he was still friendly with us."

"So then why does he hate dad so much? I mean if they were..."

"During the first war, we were all in the Order together, except for Snape. She was out on an assignment with your father, and Snape just happened to be there. They were severely outnumbered and James had run off to retrieve the paperwork they had come to get, leaving [Y/N] outnumbered, Snape went after James, who had already got away, leaving her behind, and when Snape returned to the group..." Remus's eyes were tearing up.

"She was dead, wasn't she?"

"He later tried to confront James about him leaving her to die, however James just brushed him off saying he had a much more pressing matter, which was comforting me. Ever since Snape has blamed James for her death, along with Lily's." He choked as Harry looked at him, fully understanding.

"I'm so sorry, I had no idea."

"Yes well now you know." Remus smiled sadly, "now if you will excuse me, I need.."

And then he was gone, he apparated out of the kitchen and to a small graveyard, his feet carrying him to the base of a hill where an old tree sat. Under the tree was a single gravestone, which Lupin had memorized.

Here lies [Y/n] Snape-Lupin

Birthdate: January 6th 1960

Deathdate: November 7th 1978

Beloved Sister, wife, friend, and Warrior. May she never be forgotten

And from the base he could see a figure in a black cloak standing before the stone with black hair, and he smiled weakly before disappearing, to leave Snape alone.
