"Sierra? What are you doing?"
Sierra munched on a handful of popcorn while staring at the tv. She's barely left her couch all weekend, laying around in her pajamas with soda cans and bags of chips scattered everywhere.
"Shh! You don't speak when Light Yagami is speaking. Gosh he's so hot! I don't care how crazy he is."
"Okay! Do you hear yourself? This ends now!" Ruby walked over and shut off her TV.
"Hey! I was watching that!"
Ruby shook her head. "Sierra, what the hell is wrong with you? You look like shit! Is this why no one could reach you? We thought you were dead!" She shouted.
Sierra shot her a seething glare. "That's a bit extreme Ruby, don't you think?"
"No I don't think! Have you even left the house this weekend?"
Sierra cut her stare away from Ruby. "I have no reason to leave the house. I have anime and PlayStation to keep me company."
Ruby scoffed. "You need to get laid."
Sierra's gaze bolted toward Ruby. "Excuse me?"
"Why the hell do you look as if you're post breakup or something. Did you..." Ruby gasped. "Did you sleep with that fine as hell boss of yours?"
Sierra winced from the sound of Taehyung's name. She managed to go almost forty-eight hours without hearing it until Ruby happened to barge into her apartment. The glare she delivered could produce unlimited daggers charging in Ruby's direction if gifted with the ability.
"No." Sierra mumbled low. "Where would you get a stupid idea like that?"
"Oh I don't know, maybe because you like him?" Ruby's sarcasm tarried in her question as she plopped in the couch next to Sierra.
"I don't. Like. Him. He's..."
"Hot." Ruby interrupted.
"That's not what I was going to say." Sierra cut her gaze.
"It's okay. I'll just say it for you. However, I am curious why you wouldn't. I mean, he's made it very obvious that night at the restaurant that he likes you. He was giving you "come fuck me eyes" and you know you want to."
"Ugh...Ruby please." Sierra sat up from her couch. "He's my boss. I'm his employee. It isn't very ethical to sleep with the CEO of the company." Sierra attempted to explained.
"Who gives a damn about ethics?" Ruby voice raised slightly as if rhetoric.
"Oh that's nice coming from an Human Resources Director." Sierra folded her arms.
"Honey, I'm a woman first and if there isn't any clause or rule in your company about interoffice relations, then who gives a shit?" Ruby amended.
Sierra's eyes widened. "I do Ruby! I give lots of shits!"
Ruby's stare constricted on Sierra as a thought came to mind. "What is this really about Sierra? Taehyung is handsome, and a very established man, plus he likes you. Do you know how many women in this city alone would kill to even get a taste of that?"
Sierra huffed. "I will tell you just as I told him. He is only here for six months and then he is back on a plane to Seoul and I will be here in New York. That is one hell of a distance Ruby! I won't do that!"
Ruby eyebrows furrowed. "You told him this? Meaning you had this conversation with him? So, this is more than just some drunk flirting, huh?" Ruby leaned in closer, "did you kiss him?" She murmured.
"N-No..." Sierra shook her head of her lie but she couldn't deny the vision she recieved afterwards of being in his arms before his tender lips graced hers, sending electrofying chills quivering through her body from just the thought.
"Liar." Ruby smirked. "I bet he's damn good kisser."
Sierra's heart fluttered as she tried to recover from her haunting imagery. "Ruby..."
"I don't get it Si. Why are you making excuses about Taehyung when he's very much your type?" Ruby wondered.
"Wait, what? He's not! I made that perfectly clear that we have nothing in common." Sierra retorted.
"Oh really? You met him at Comic Con. Enough said." Ruby reminded.
Sierra sighed as she took a seat back on the couch. As much as she ached to keep denying what Ruby was airing out before her, it was no use to lie to her best friend. However, it didn't change her mind on her decision.
"Even if I did have some sort of feelings for Taehyung, they have diminished Ruby. He's already sleeping with someone else so there is no need to even try pursue anything because there isn't anything there." Sierra grabbed the remote and turned the TV back on.
"What do you mean? How do you know he's sleeping with someone?"
Sierra felt a burning on her ear that crawled to her neck recalling how much Victoria had been shamelessly flirting with the Taehyung the past couple of weeks. Sierra didn't view her as much of a threat before but now that she's given Taehyung the boot, she's retracting her thoughts of the possibility.
"Victoria has been hanging around him. Flaunting her plastic breasts in his face." Sierra huffed.
"Ew...Vicki Baxter. Of course she would. She'd fuck anything with a dick attached." Ruby shivered at the thought. "You shouldn't be threated by her. I'm sure Taehyung is much classier than that. I mean he's very suave and he seems to care about his status. I think he can smell trash when it's near him and that's what she is. So, I hope you are not comparing yourself to the likes of Victoria Baxter."
On a very tiny scale, Sierra did. She couldn't help but wonder what Taehyung may have seen in her because he didn't seem too much of the offensive of Victoria being around him.
"No. I'm not." Sierra shurgged. "It's just annoying seeing her around him."
"I don't think you have anything to worry about sweetheart. Besides, aren't you two flying out for New Orleans tomorrow?" Ruby reminded.
Oh shit! The trip! "Oh my gosh Ruby! I almost forgot! I have to go pack!" Sierra jolted from the couch and straight to her bedroom.
"I am so glad I showed up when I did." Ruby uttered as she got up to follow her.
OMG! I was soooo excited to write this and I hope you enjoyed Sierra and Taehyung's moments of moping after Sierra's decision. Now, next chapter is the beginning of the the New Orleans trip. Are you ready for it? 😏
