The morning after the meeting, Millie wakes up to a light rapping on her bedroom door. She looks over to her phone with squinted eyes and sees that it is 8:15 a.m., although it seems much earlier.

She feels exhausted.

"Millie? Can I come in, sweetie?"

It's her mom, Kelly. Millie knew her mom would want to talk with her since she has been away the past couple of days, and she is sure that Paige has filled their mother in on the events of yesterday.

She is still half asleep but grunts a reply, "Mhm." She pulls herself up against her headboard as her mom opens the door and walks in the room.

"Good morning, Mil. . .Sorry to wake you, I just wanted to see you." She strides to the window and opens the shades, allowing sunlight to flood the room. She stares out the clear glass for a couple seconds then turns and heads over to sit on the edge of Millie's bed.

"Millie," Kelly sighs. "I'm sorry I wasn't home yesterday. I hate being away, especially when you're going through something. . ." She looks at her apologetically, "It seems like I'm always in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Millie covers her yawn and moves closer to her mom, "It's okay, Mum," She says, laying her head on her shoulder, "Paige was there and by the time we got home, I really did feel a lot better."

Her mom only stares at her for a moment, looking as if she's sentimental or maybe even sad, then kisses her forehead, "Sometimes, you just look so much like you did when you were little." She smiles down at her, pulling her into a hug, "Oh, how I miss those days sometimes. . .Sure there were difficult times then too, with all the moving around, but I knew how to protect you. . .how to make you feel better."

Millie doesn't like seeing her mother upset with herself, but she knows what she means and she misses those days too. Before fame. Before Stranger Things. Before the accident. Before Finn.

But she also knows that without all of those things, she wouldn't be where she is now, and who knows where she'd be instead. She is thankful to have the career that she has, and she wouldn't give up her friends for anything.

Her family is her rock though. Without them, she'd never be able to handle the stress of this world. She snuggles closer to her mother, "I love you Mum. And for the record, I think you still know how to make me feel better."

"Well thanks for that, love" She plants one more kiss on her daughter's head, then stands up, "I've got to get downstairs, though. I've promised Ava that I'll make her breakfast before school, any requests from you?"

Millie shakes her head, "Whatever you make will be great, Mum."

Kelly grins, "Alright dear. Come down when you're ready then."

"I will." she assures her mother before hopping out of bed.

Kelly heads downstairs, leaving her daughter to prepare for the day. She doesn't have a particularly busy day planned, the only thing she really has to do is to work out because her mind needs it. Without exercise, her anxiety gets away from her and she ends up in a dark funk with little available to bring her back.

Before she can get ready though, she hears her phone buzz with an incoming text message and walks to her bedside table where her phone is charging to see that it's from Sadie.
