The word was spreading quick that we were going to take the girls back to Ravenswood. We even started to load a car with fake luggage. If there is a mole, that person would have heard by now and contacted Jackson.
"Almost done loading?" Avery came up as I finish smoking my cigarette out in the veranda.
"Yeah. The girls?"
"Having dinner in their room."
I just nodded at him.
"We will get him," Avery said putting a hand on my shoulder.
At that moment, an explosion sounded at the far left end of the estate. Avery tackled me down and I instinctively cover my head. A few moments later I got up unharmed along with Avery. Smoke emitted from that side of the building.
"What the fuck..." Avery said already heading that direction. I followed. That's the kitchen. Maybe something just exploded. But with the sound of screaming come from that direction, I knew better.
Tom met us on the scene. The kitchen was in smoke, a fire was burning angrily to one side of the kitchen. The glass door and windows were all shattered. Cries of help was coming from all direction. Think, I have five kitchen staffs at all time not including maids that may have been in here or security.
"There should be five staff at minimum!" I shouted over the cries. More security arrived spreading out.
I ran towards the sound of someone yelling for help. Shit! It was my main chef. Half of his arm and face was burn as far as the eye can see. He reaches up to me with good arm.
"I got you, Frank," I said. As careful as possible, I collected him into my arms. He cried out in agony. "Someone call the cops!" I shouted. I carry him out into the hallway where my men were running back in forth with buckets of water attempting to put out the fire. "Watch him!" I ordered a maid nearby.
"Ye..ye...yes sir!" she stumble over. She gasped in shock upon seeing Frank's face.
I turn back to the scene just as Avery and Tom helped out two of my kitchen staff. They didn't look as badly hurt as Frank.
"Something was triggered," said one of them as he fell to his knee coughing out the smoke. "There was a beeping sound, we couldn't find it and then this happened."
I look to Avery and Tom, then at everyone else running around. Everyone was here. Everyone, except the girls. We gave each other a knowing look and dash into the other direction. Please God let them be okay. Amelia! I scream her name over and over in my head as I try to get to her. Once we got there, the three of us simultaneously barge through the bedroom door.
"Amelia!" "Jenny!" Avery and I shouted in unison.
Empty.
Glass and wine covered the floor and, blood.
"No! NO!!!" I screamed! Grabbing the closest thing to me and tossing it.
"Jenny!" Avery cried out! Fear laced his voice. He ran to the bathroom.
A groan behind the table caught our attention.
"Sarah!" Tom ran towards her.
"Ah gods, Sarah!" Tom lifts her lithe body into his arm.
I run over follow by Avery. My fist tighten by my side at the sight of her. Her temple was bleeding and dried blood trailed out of her nose and mouth. You can already see the bruises forming on her skin. An image of Amelia from four years ago emerge in my mind enraging me all the more.
