Amelia

"Run."

I toss the empty gun to Jackson and then shove Jenny and she starts running along with Kara. I didn't waste time to look back and was right behind them.

They both turn towards the front door and I to the back towards the kitchen exit. If we split up, Jackson will have to choose who to go after. Although I was afraid for my life, it was me that he wants so I hoped he came after me. At least then, Kara and Jenny can get away.

As expected, I heard heavy steps after me. The small hallway seem to stretch for miles. I pump my bare feet to go faster but knew damn will that I wasn't going to escape. The time I take to open the door, Jackson will be on my back.

Think. Think. Maybe I can slam myself through the door? I mean, this is an old house. Whatever, anything is better than nothing. As I prepare for impact, the door magically opens and I ran straight into Christian's chest.

I tried to slow down so I didn't slam into him too hard but it was too late. I hit right into him and he stumbles back. Surprisingly, his arms encircles me and he was able to balance us both without falling to the ground. The warmth of his touch and his strong hold around me was one of the best feeling ever. Right then and there, I knew we were saved, I was saved. Christian would move mountains to protect me. He is my mountain.

The brief contact was gone when Christian shoves me behind him when Jackson emerges from the door. He moves us a couple step back creating a few feet of space between us.

"So, we meet again," Jackson said smiling. "Welcome to the party, Christian."

Christian

Seeing the bastard's face, my anger burn deeply. If Amelia wasn't with me, I would have ran his ass over already. Slowly, I push Amelia back making space between us and him. When we were at a good enough distant, I pull out the gun from behind me and point it straight at his heart.

Jackson slow and put his hands up, "Whoa whoa, I have no weapon. Let's be fair."

I didn't believe the bastard for a second and he knew it.

"You can ask Amelia, she knows. We were in the process of doing things when we were so rudely interrupted." He said.

The sound of his voice made me wanted to shoot him on the spot. The photo of them kissing came into my mind and I turn to Amelia. Only then did I see what she really looked like and my eyes darken. Her little body was beaten and bruised. She was half naked. There were visible bruises forming around her face. Blood ran dried at the corner of her mouth from a cut. Red horizontal lines marked her neck with bite marks running down to her shoulders. Her wrists were bruised from being tied up too tightly. She shook as I access her but her gaze never left me. At that moment, I just want to pick her up, hug her tightly forever. She trusts me to trust her that she didn't partake in anything willingly. The thought of betrayal never crossed my mind.

"Does he?" I asked her.

"No." she replied.

"Jenny?"

"She ran towards the front door."

I nodded at her. "Stay here. Better yet move back."

I turn my attention back to Jackson who was still standing there with his hands up. Without a second thought I toss the gun aside. Jackson smiles satisfied by my decision. I took a step forward, cracked my knuckles and smirk right back at him. "I'm going to enjoy this."

"Christian..." I hear Amelia say voice full of worry.

Ignoring her I ram right into Jackson knocking both him and I over. We both roll on the floor trying to get the upper hand. Getting up first I get on top of him and punch him mercilessly over and over again. When he falls back, I grab him by his collar and brought him to my face.
