When the sound of footsteps die away, my legs gave out on me and I fell to the floor. I inhale greedily desperate for air.

"Millie, are you okay?" Jenny's panicked voice sounded behind me. She walks on her two knees to face me.

"He's going to win," I whispered. I look up to her with tears threatening to fall.

Jenny shakes her head hard. "You can't Millie! You cannot do as he said!"

"I have no choice Jenny. I can't let him harm you or your babe." She just continues to shake her head and cry.

"You can't Amelia, you can't!" her head falls in my lap. I wish my hands weren't tied so I can better comfort her.

"Everything will be fine." I fake confidence.

"There has to be something we can do. We have to think of something. Keep stalling him." She whimpers.

"Calm down Jenny. That's not good for the baby."

She cries in my lap for who knows how long. There wasn't much I can do to comfort her. There wasn't anything I can say or she can say that will prevent the inevitable. I just sat and pray that Christian was okay and would soon find us. Hopefully it won't be too late then.

When Jenny had finally calm, I shifted my sleeping legs under her.

"Sorry," she said getting up.

"Jenny turn your back to me," I whispered. She looked at me confused but did as I said.

Turning my back to her as well, I reached for the rope around her hand. Concentrating, I start working on the knot. She realized what I was trying to do and push her hands more towards me.

After some time of a slight struggle, I was able to loosen the knot. Just as I thought. Kara probably was the one to tie Jenny up since Jackson's attention was on me. The knot wasn't as strong as if a man tied it. Jenny was able to escape the rope after a pull or two against the rope. Immediately, she starts working on the rope around my wrists.

"It's like glued together," she whispered.

"The knot will be tighter since Jackson tied it. Just keep trying," I urged her.

Without giving up, Jenny continues to work the knot. Finally, I felt it loosen. "I got it!" she whispered shout."

I pull my hands free from the rope. Turning to her I gave her a brief but tight hug before bringing a finger to my lip to shush her.

"We need to find a weapon. Anything." I gesture for her to go search the opposite side while I cover the other.

For once I'm glad the floor was concrete, it didn't creak. There wasn't much in the basement. Even when Jackson and I lived here, we didn't own much so the basement was utilized much. But now it was almost empty. As if someone cleaned it completely out. When I left this place, I left in a haste. I only came down here to grab old family albums. After that, I don't know what happened to this place.

It didn't take long to search since the basement was bare. I returned to the only working light in the basement holding an old broom in my hand. Jenny shows up with feather duster. I almost wanted to laugh.

"It was either this or paper towel rolls," she said emitting a smile from me.

That smile was short lived though. It was time to make a plan.

"Do you think you can take on Kara?" I asked in all seriousness now. I do not want Jenny to try fighting anyone, but if I had to choose between Jackson or Kara, she was getting Kara.
