Dances?

Y/N's POV:

I had woken up early again, seeing I was still laying on my back on the couch while Akiza had her head on my shoulder with her arm and leg draped across me. I smiled softly and laid my head on top of hers as I tried to go back to sleep and enjoy Akiza's embrace but sadly, the Gods don't want me to be happy because Jaden literally kicked his door open and walked to the kitchen with a very tired Yusei following in tow which caused Akiza to groan and cuddle more into me.

I felt a blush cover my face before I quickly calmed down and pretended to be asleep while slightly tightening my arms around Akiza as I released a relaxed sigh.

This actually feels nice, holding someone that you like that is. Gods, what is wrong with me? Why am I like this?

I felt Akiza sigh also before wrapping her arms around me to keep me from moving so much but stopped abruptly and slowly started to pull away, knowing she was probably looking at me now so I continued to pretend to sleep as I released a fake groan and a few fake grumble nonsense. She began moving as if trying really hard not to wake me up but just as she was climbing over me, almost straddling me, the front door burst open which made me shoot up from my spot and fall to the ground, dragging Akiza down with me.

"Oh my god! Y/N! I am so sorry! I didn't mean to freak ya out so bad!" I heard Jesse yell as I felt someone pull me into their arms in a protective manner. "Nice going Jess, you broke her." I heard Alexis say which meant she was the one holding me, "For the love of Ra, I'm not broke or hurt, I'm fine." I stated, pulling away from Alexis as I began rubbing my eyes and face before remembering Akiza.

I quickly turned and saw Akiza almost death glaring Alexis which confused me but I chose to ignore it, offering her a hand and a soft smile, "You ok? That sounded like a pretty bad fall." I said as she blushed and accepted my hand, pulling her up to her feet as she stretched soon after. "I'm ok, I'm sorry for falling asleep on you last night, it must have been uncomfortable." She said as I chuckled and shook my head, "Course not, that was actually the best sleep I've ever had and it's ok if you fell asleep on me 'cause I fell asleep on you too." I replied as she relaxed and gave me a small smile before looking at me, a small giggle releasing from her lips which made me tilt my head slightly.

"What?" I asked as she pointed at my hair, "Nice bed head, well I should say nice couch head." Akiza said, making me blush and started running my hands through my hair, slightly freaking out before I looked at her hair and giggled also. "If you think mine's bad, you should look at yours, hehe." I joked which made her send me a glare before shyly running a hand through her dark crimson hair, making me smile and grab her hands to stop her.

Her hair wasn't even a mess, I just wanted to mess with her but there was a strand that was popping up so I carefully held her head in my left hand while I used my right hand to move the strand back to its regular spot on her head, smiling as I looked down to meet her light brown eyes. We stayed like that for a few seconds, just staring at each other until I heard stuff falling in the kitchen, quickly turning to see Jaden looking through the drawers and cabinets while Yusei was asleep on the counter.

Poor kid, Jaden probably kept him up all night with his late night thoughts. He used to do that to me, Jaden thinks of some weird ass stuff at three in the morning.

I chuckled and shook away the small memory before I sighed and had an unsure smile on my face as I stared at my cousin causing chaos in our kitchen. "Jay, what in Ra's name are you doing?" I asked as he looked at me and pouted, "Who woke you up? I was gonna surprise you by making breakfast today." He stated as I pointed to our friends that had just burst through our door around three minutes ago.

How did he not hear the chaos that they caused just by walking in? "How did you guys get in here? I thought I locked the door last night." Jaden said as Yusei groaned as a rejection while I shrugged.

"Anyway, don't cook, I'll make breakfast for everyone and you guys." Turning to look at Alexis, Aster, Chazz, Syrus, and Jesse, "Why'd ya come banging down our door so early for? It's barely Sunday, we don't have classes today." I stated as I walked to the kitchen and kicked Jaden out while leaving Yusei to sleep on the counter, covering him with a blanket that was near by as I started to grab everything I needed to make breakfast.

"We came to tell you guys that the Fall dance is coming up and so is this year's talent show." Alexis said as she walked over to the counter and took a seat on one of the stools while I scoffed and shook my head, "They do things like that here too? Man, just when I thought I could actually get away from those dumb things." I stated while grabbing eggs and bacon from the fridge.

I saw Akiza walk over with Leo and Luna in tow, earning a confused look from the brown eyed girl, "What? You don't like school dances?" She asked as I just shrugged. "It's not that it's just that-" "She never gets asked and when she does, the girl who she's supposed to go with dumps her for someone else." Jaden interrupted, anger written on his face as he walked back into the kitchen and grabbed some potatoes to start making hash browns, "Jay, that was middle school, we were kids." I stated as I gave him a pointed look only to earn one from him.

"Has that changed from the one and a half years at Domino High?" He shot back as I stayed silent and began cracking eggs into a bowl. "I never went to dances 'cause I rather just hang out with my friend before he left me." I mumbled out before shaking my head and letting a smile over come my face even if it was a little fake. "Plus, loud music and flashing lights make me wanna throw up. Especially when I'm in such a small place like Domino High's gym, it's small and it gets super hot really fast." I semi-lied as I continued to cook.

Seriously, Domino High should invest on getting a bigger gym or something, that thing is too small and freaking hot. Kids have passed out in there just by being in there for at least five minutes max. I chuckled and shook my head, getting rid of the memories before remembering what Jay said.

What Jaden said was true and it brought back some unwanted memories. When there were dances, I would get asked and me being a naive little kid, always said yes to the first girl and when the dance would come around, the girl would ditch me or never call me or anything. I would spend those nights with my dads, cuddled on the couch eating junk food and watching movies, inviting some of my other family members to come over if they could and whenever Jaden found out about me being ditched, he would literally find the girl and tell her off in front of everyone before he left the dance and came over to see me.

It wasn't till Highschool when I knew I wasn't gonna have him around anymore because he was coming to the Academy and I was going to Domino High but I it was a good thing that I met Calvin in middle school when I was a sixth grader and he was a eighth grader. He changed my life for the better.

He became my rock throughout the years at Domino middle school and at Domino High too. Instead of dances, we would either hang out at my house with my dads or we would go to his apartment and hang out while we either danced and listened to music or we just played video games. Ordering food as we stayed in and just hung around.

Calvin was the one who knew everything about me, aside from my family, he knew how I acted on certain moods and he knew when I was lying, if he was here right now, he would have called me out. Or thrown me over his shoulder and took me out to eat like he used to do when my Great Gramps birthday came around or the day he died, Calv would always take me out to try to get my mind off of the heartache of losing my Great Gramps.

I miss Calv so much, I wonder what he's doing right now… Maybe I'll call him after breakfast.

Smiling at the thought, I continued to cook, remembering the many adventures I had with Calvin. He was the greatest best friend anyone could have asked for, which made me happy to know he was my best friend.

Damn, I miss that dork so much.
