Work and Then Breaks

Y/N's POV:

     After my last class, which was my Turbo Dueling class, I said bye to my friends and kissed my girlfriend bye before I made my way over to the destroyed Duel Arena, only to see someone I haven't seen in awhile. "Eli! Hey!" I called out to the older man, seeing him turn to look at me as a smile came over his face.

     Eli was Uncle Seto's top Construction worker and his favorite because Eli was always down to do anything crazy that Uncle Seto threw at him. Eli was maybe in his late thirties or early forties but he still acted super young. He was a tall guy with green shaggy hair that he slicked back, bright amber eyes, and light tanned skin.

     "Aye! If it isn't the little boss! How you been?!" Eli said as he pulled me into a tight hug that I happily returned, this guy was always like another Uncle to me. "I've been alright I guess, I gotta help you and the others rebuild the messed up or destroyed buildings." Pulling away to look up at the older man, who smiled down at me and nodded before leaning down towards me while covering his mouth on one side, almost as if he was telling me a secret. "I'll cover for ya, you could leave and I'll tell the big boss that you were here the whole time." Eli whispered as he glanced at the other workers but I laughed and shook my head, knowing he was willing to lie to Uncle Seto just to mess with him.

     I love how this guy is always willing to cover for me.

     "Haha, thanks Eli but this is my punishment so I gotta power through it." I crossed my arms over my chest as he hummed and nodded before patting my shoulder. "Alright then, we have a few hours of daylight left and we'll be working on it a little past maybe eight or nine. Go toss your stuff onto the table over there and then come back so I could get you some gear." Eli explained as I nodded and went to go do what he instructed. After he explained a few more things to me and making sure I understood everything, we all began to get to work.

     "Alright guys! Break time!" Eli shouted as I groaned and wiped some sweat from my brow, climbing down off of a ledge and landing onto the floor only to turn around to see Akiza was walking over to me with a smile and a couple bags in her hands. "Hey, what's this?" I asked as she finally reached me, pecking my lips before smiling at me, "Well, you kinda skipped lunch to do your homework so that you could come straight to work so I decided to bring you food." She said as she lifted up the bags as I chuckled, "Is this gonna be a thing? I pay for breakfast and you pay for dinner?" I teased as she laughed and shook her head. "I dunno maybe, now come on, Sweaty!" She smiled as she grabbed my hand while she began to drag me away off to some tables near the construction sight.

     She started to take out some containers of food and set them on the table while I grabbed the other bag she had, opening it to see it had drinks so I started taking them out and setting them on the table. "How's it going?" She asked as she gave me a container and gave her her drink, "Meh, it's pretty intense but I'm powering through it." I sighed but gave her a tired smile as she chuckled softly and handed me a fork, "Yeah but hopefully it'll get easier soon." She said as I chuckled and moved over to sit next to her instead of across.

     "How long is your break?" She asked as she looked at me and opened her container, "Dunno but they won't start working unless I get back. What are you doing later tonight?" Opening my container of food to see she brought me some Chinese takeout, making me smile widely at her. I pecked her cheek and thanked her before I began eating, still waiting for an answer to my question, "Nothing really. Maybe some homework and going sleep early?" She said but it sounded more like a question since she seemed unsure of what she wanted to do later. "Why?" She added as she began eating while I swallowed the food that was in my mouth before I started talking, feeling a blush come to my cheeks as I began saying my next words, "Well, I was gonna say if you wanted to come to my room and watch a movie? After I take a shower obviously. Unless you like me being sweaty." I smirked as I rubbed my sweaty face against Akiza's making her muffle out a scream since her mouth was full of food and she pushed me away from her while a smile was on her lips.
