The Runaway

Third Person POV:

    Darkness, that's all that surrounded Y/N. She didn't know where she was now but she remembered what happened. The duel, her losing to her Dads, Yusei, and Akiza, her disappearing. She remembered it all but what she also remembered was the screams. Every single damn scream. The screams belonged to the people she hurt, the people who she and the other Dark Signers used to summon their Earthbound Immortals.

    As she stayed there in the darkness, she kept hearing people screaming, asking for help from anyone. Every scream that rang in the darkness made Y/N want to throw up and cry because every scream was someone innocent that she had hurt. Someone's mother, sister, daughter, brother, father, or son. She used them all for her own greed and she hated it, she hated herself even more. 'I deserve this… I deserve all of this!' She thought as she laid down on what felt like the ground and curled up into a fetus position, holding her head in her hands as she listened to the screams and cries. Each time, she would repeat the same thing over and over again;

    "I deserve this."

    After Yusei, Jack, and Crow stopped Goodwin from releasing the monster pet of the Netherworld King, Yusei managed to save all everyone including the people who were Dark Signers, but they would reappear where they were defeated. Once Y/N reappeared on the temple roof, she ran out of there while freaking out until she remembered what she had to do. She needed to get Toby and take him to Misty, just like she promised him, even if she was a Dark Signer at the time. She looked around and saw her Dark Signer bike, cringing slightly at the sight before running over to it and taking off towards Kaiba Corp while she avoided cameras because she wasn't ready to face her family… Not yet and not like this.

    When she finally reached her Uncle's company, she snuck in through the back entrance, using the secret entrance to make her way up to the floor of the building. When she got to the top, she put her ear against the door, hearing her family's voices through the hidden door before something caught her attention, "Roland, you're with us. Toby, you will be staying here until we get back, if you need anything, ask Yuki, he'll bring you whatever you need. Yuki, stay in front of the door and make sure he doesn't leave." Seto said Y/N heard everyone leaving while the door closed behind then as Toby let out a frustrated groan, "This is stupid! I just wanna go home!" The boy yelled, sadness laced in his voice before he plopped down on something. No doubt the couch. Y/N took that as her cue to walk in, opening the hidden door which caught Toby's attention, "Y/N!-" "Shh!" Y/N shushed him, seeing as he instantly got quiet. She pointed to the door and then back at herself before shaking her head, signaling him that Yuki can't know that she was here.

    She then waved the boy over, seeing as he grabbed his bag and walked over to her, "Do you have everything?" She whispered as he nodded, "Where are we going? And your eyes, they changed color, they're not red anymore." He whispered back as she nodded but chose not to say anything about her eyes. He wouldn't understand. "I'm keeping my promise. I'm taking you home so let's go." She whispered back as he smiled widely and nodded. The two of them snuck through the building through the secret route until they finally reached the exit. Y/N dragged the boy over to her bike and gave him the helmet she had, "Ok, point me in the direction of your house." She said as they took off down the road, going in the direction of wherever Toby pointed to until they finally arrived at a huge house. Y/N stopped her bike and looked around, spotting Misty's Dark Signer bike hiding in some bushes which meant she was here.

    Y/N turned off her bike as she and Toby got off of her bike, slowly walking to the entrance of the house to see the door was wide open, "Mist-" "Shh. Wait." Y/N told Toby as they looked inside the open door to see it was dark. 'If someone was in there, they knew how to move in the dark.' Y/N thought as she pushed Toby behind her before they both started to silently walk into the house. Toby had silently closed the door but at the same time, Y/N heard noises from above her on the second floor, "That's the lounge area." Toby whispered to the older girl, who nodded and grabbed a cane from the bucket by the door before the two made their way up to the second floor.
