"You literally put me through hell for thirteen years!" I screamed, still torn from what just had happened. It wasn't every day you were brought back from the dead, and my head was killing me. My organs and internals felt like they were destroying me!

"Well it was fun though, was it not? I mean, I never really tortured you," he said in a menacingly manner, "I showed you how to have a good time, and a little depth into the future," the devil said, raising his hand and using his thumb and index finger to form a C, "At least a little, itsy bit of fun?"

"Are you kidding me?! You must be joking! You took me from my wife and kids! They needed me!" The thought of this destroyed me. I felt such a sad pang, missing my wife and children, being taken too young to watch my beautiful family grow. I didn't think my heart could break more than once, but it did every time I thought of this.

Thank goodness he doesn't know his wife had passed directly after him, the devil thought. Ironic how things and people work, too much emotion. But what's neat about his emotions, they make him stronger as a whole. Generally it makes people much weaker.

I was about to lunge at the devil when Sam began coughing and hacking something up. "Eeeerrrrr," he whimpered while coughing. I stared at my dog, not knowing what to do. It sounded as if he were coughing up hair balls.

"What on earth? What's happening to Sam?! " I asked, terrified that my loyal friend would die again immediately after being brought back to life.

Sam then spit out a fire ball that spiraled to the ground. A splat sound came from it, similar to spilling liquids! When it landed, it began to burn out, turning the sand where it had been a light tan to complete blackness.

The devil cocked his head, "Weird."

"What was that? Why did he do that?" I asked as I bent down to pet my dog.

"No idea. I've never seen anything like that before, and I've seen alot" he replied. "Well then, are you ready to complete your mission?" He dismissed what had just happened immediately.

I shook my head, disagreeing as I rose to my feet to face the devil. "You have never even answered my question, why did you take me?"

"Ah, but I couldn't tell you till now." He smiled, obviously playing games, "It was the family curse, a deal made between Lindsey Hennessy and I over a century ago. I need you, and three others."

"The strongest souls of the family."

            "Correct."
