“Hennessey.... We are related.”

Emily looked at her in a new light now, slightly disbelieving that this was real.

            “What century is this?”

            “This is the fourteenth century.”

Emily lost her breath. The next family soul would be taken in the fourteenth century; of that young and beautiful girl. We had the same genes none the less.

The lady sobbed as the walls began to shake. “Wake up Emily,” she said firmly.

“Emily! Wake up!” the room spun around her to form into different colors.

Gasping for breath, she awakened in her cot next to Jake.

“Emily!? You had me so worried; the way you are sweating right now I thought you were going to drown. I have never felt you toss and turn like that either,” Jake held onto her.

She pushed him away slightly, as her memory came back to her with full force.

            “J-jake!”

            “I'm right here sweet heart.”

“I-I saw the next Hennessey member being taken in my dream,” tears sprung from her face, “Oh it was awful Jake.”

“It was just a dream honey.”

“It seemed like so much more than a dream. I need to see Randi, now.”

            “At this hour?”

            “Yes.”

            “This can't wait until morning?”

            “No.”

Emily stood from the cot, above Jake. She grabbed her clothing, kissed her husband on the cheek, and hurried outside to where Pinelli rested.

“Hey boy,” he flared his nostrils startled from her appearance.

“There there,” she pet his cheek.

He calmed, realizing it was Emily. She hopped on his back and rode to Randi’s house. All she could think about was that girl, how young she was, and her beautiful eyes that stared right through her soul. Randi or Edith would know what to do, they must be able to do something, especially now that we'll have a general idea of when the next family member would be taken.

The ride there was extremely excruciating and painful. She could not understand her arm, if it was just a dream then why'd the burn remain? Why'd it still produce pain? It was very peculiar indeed. The entire thing was peculiar, but that is beside the point.

Randi would understand, she had some similarities to Emily. They would be able to discuss a good plan on what to do next.

She rode up to Randi’s house in what seemed like took forever; thinking about the dream the entire way and extracting Jake’s reaction from her mind.

Hopping off Pinelli, she tied his straps to the wooden off beat fence about fifty yards or so from her house. She then stormed up the path to Randi and Thomas’s house. She didn't even knock, she thrust the door open. It whacked the wall. The new hinges that she invented allowed the door to do a complete 180 degree turn around instead of a 90 degree turn around.

She walked directly to her brother and Randi’s room and entered without acknowledgement. Thomas had a sword on around her neck instantly. She became submissive, careful not to make any sudden moves until he realized it was her.

            “E- em-emily!” he exclaimed.

“I apologize for the late night intrusion, I'm a woman on a mission,” she replied.

He lowered his sword, embarrassed since he wasn't wearing any clothing. In fact he was wearing nothing at all. He ran to the animal cloth that rest on his bed and covered up.

“Oh my goodness!” Emily was completely startled as she looked away.

“I thought you were an intruder,” he declared.

“Emily? What on earth are you doing here at this hour? Are you okay?!” Randi stammered, still slightly asleep, and yawning.

“Yeah,” Thomas chimed in, “What are you doing here at this hour?” His eyes narrowed on me, “What is going on sister?”

“I know this sounds very strange, but I just had a vision of the future,” Emily said, as she looked down to the floor, and grasped burnt her arm. The moonlight shined in on her, it also slightly lit the room; in an eerie sort of way.

“It must have been a nightmare honey, you need to wake up fully to get your head on straight,” Thomas said.

Emily pointed to her arm as it shined in the moonlight, “Not a dream Thomas.”

Randi gasped, and her eyes widened in shock.  “What is that on your arm? Oh Em, what happened?”
