The horror was over, and the sun was shining down on Jake and Emily. She wore a white dress that made her red hair and eyes stick out even more. They sat in the forest, in a slightly open area. Purple wild flowers grew all around them, and it felt like they had just discovered each other for the first time. Well, at least Emily had finally discovered Jake.
Laughter played on their faces as they told stories, and she opened up to him, finally. She knew that she could finally let go of her past, since she had come to terms with it at last. They play wrestled and tickled each other, rolling around in the soft green grass.
"Emily," Jake said.
He had finally become more confident around her, showing her that he really had grown into his man hood.
"Yes Jake?" She asked, as she picked a purple flower and put it in her hair just above her ear, then she picked another one and put it behind his ear, giggling.
"Marry me, Emily," Jake said, as he pinned her and grabbed the ring from his pocket, slipping it on her most important finger.
Her face absolutely gleamed, and a tiny tear of happiness fell down her cheek. He wiped it off with his rough fingers.
"Oh Jake, are you sure about this? I do not know how you would handle the nagging wife thing," she said, almost breathless.
He tease tickled her, making her giggle, then he laid a kiss on her cheek.
"I think I am being the nagging one with the proposal, Emily. If you decide against it, I will nag at you till the day we die."
She laughed, "Yes Jake, I will marry you," she gleamed even more and leaned up to press a kiss to his lips.

A drink, I need a drink, Lazarous thought to himself as he stumbled through the forest. His buzz was starting to wear off. The devil stood in the shadows not too far away, watching him, and leading him with an invisible force.
He stumbled over the roots of a tree that suddenly stood up in front of him, making him fall and tumble. In front of him, he caught glimpse of a clear contained box with a pretty mold and flower, it had been labeled, "Black Plague." He snatched it off the ground, maybe this would get him a drink, he thought, smug with his findings as he walked back to town.
The devil smiled, anxious now for the late 13th century.

5 Years Later
The evil had seemed to pass this town. Agatha was behind bars, along with a few others that had taken root in Lord Gaube's plans, his followers. The town voted that they should all be hung to completely rid the town of Lord Gaube’s evil. The town’s people were happy and glowing, helping each other out to their best.
Emily and Thomas had gotten over their mental issues that had burdened them at child hood. They had a great relationship with the town’s people as well as each other. Thomas's son was four years of age, about to turn five shortly, and Emily had a glowing daughter that was three, and she was pregnant with her next.
She had really opened up to everybody, after marrying Jake. Albert and her ended up partnering with each other, in her town, and they were experimenting with different metals now for weaponry and miscellaneous items. Jake and her ended up getting a large piece of property (several acres or so) and built their own house. They gave Albert their old child hood house that he repaired to the T. They tried not to mention the family curse in front of their children yet; for they were not of age to dwell on such things.
Randi, Thomas, Emily, and Jake would get together weekly with children to let them play and form their bonds. Family was the most important thing they decided, as well as God. Their life changing event had really brought them closer, and the town. A traveling preacher, Nathanial had found their town, and had decided to settle down there with his wife and new born baby. Their skin was dark and gorgeous, and they had touched the entire town with their stories, and ventures. It was really meant to be, since the other town preachers had gone corrupt and needed to be replaced.
"Wow, they grow fast," Emily stated to Randi. The women sat at a table outside drinking juice that Emily finally remembered how to make from her mother. How she recalled that recipe was beyond her. It came to her in a dream. It must have. Emily played with the necklace her mother had given her.
"No kidding, just yesterday it seems that it was Michael's first birthday," Randi sat straight up, “Why is your necklace glowing like that?”
Emily looked down, completely dumbfounded and raised the necklace to her face. “Weird,” she shrugged her shoulders as she observed it in complete aw. “Maybe it shows my mood, I am so happy that we do not have to deal with the famous Lord Gaube and his followers anymore.”
“I will drink to that! Their hanging date is next week is it not?”
“Yes, and we have front row seats.”
"Ladies," Thomas said, as Jake and he came out to join them. They both jumped, completely startled, then they giggled while exchanging looks of ‘We are busted.’
They then got lost into their conversations, enjoying life one step at a time and one day at a time.
