It was dark outside, easier for Nicholas and Sam to blend in. His car had been parked down the road. Nicholas moved through the woods without any sound, advancing on Lord Gaube's castle. He had already taken down one guard with a quick slice of the neck as he stood behind him. It was as if he was born to do this. Sam silently stalked the woods; it was as if he knew what he was doing as well. His hair stood up on his back, he was overly excited, and his eyes glew in the dark.
Another man ahead, being completely clumsy. He was paying more attention to a stain on his tunic then to his surroundings. Good. It should be easy, Nicholas thought. Sam beat him to it, running past Nicholas, the man hearing it, and did not have enough time to become on guard as Sam leaped through the air. His teeth aimed at the man's throat. The man turned just in time to have his flesh torn from his neck.
Grabbing at it, he then slowly fell to his knees with horror in his eyes, and blood falling rapidly from his neck and staining his light green tunic even more. He fell completely to the ground as he held onto his neck. His eyes rolled back into his head. He did not even have a chance to scream, nor did he deserve it, none of Lord Gaube's men did. They were all brain washed by him.
They made their way to a tree by the entrance. Nicholas noted that there were two guards at the back, about three drifters on each side and three in the front. First he would take out the drifters, then ones in the back followed by the front since they were more likely to be able to get help. Then he would fight his way to Lord Gaube.
Sam and him made a terrific team as they took out the guards together. Getting through the front entrance, he began to walk through the chamber, on edge. Torches lit the stone hallways. Two guards appeared around the corner with their swords already on Nicholas, he stepped back to fight, but two more advanced on him in the other direction.
"Lord Gaube wants you alive, he wants the sword ultimate death match with you," Elstan hissed. He was one of the guards behind him, along with Milo. "Long time no see Nicholas."
"How did he know I was here? Alive again?"
"Easily, you went and questioned Agatha," Elstan replied.
Agatha.... That name stuck in his head. Of course, the town gossip, he had questioned her about the town disappearances earlier today; she swore that she knew nothing. Liar. Traitor. It was a very good thing that his son stayed away from such a treacherous person.
