woke up the next day ( Or night.) feeling really refreshed and ready to face the night ahead. I had a paper due and I knew at least Thor would be awake. His girlfriend, the world-renowned scientist, Jane Foster, was coming over and he was taking her out for dinner and a movie, I believed. I grabbed my laptop, heading to the living room with questions going through my mind.

Thor wasn't my favorite on the team but from a historical standpoint he was an invaluable informant for my research into history before me. Maybe the Asgardian would have an answer to my vampirism as well. I had a file full of questions and recordings of my dealings with the blonde-headed prince. He was completely oblivious to the extent of my research, mostly thinking that I was just asking questions with curiosity and writing down his answers because of, in his words, "His amazing mightiness."

Oh, gag me, please!

Like he would turn my head with his unusual muscles and looks of a dozen dimes. Something right from that Jersey Shore if you know what I mean...

I also had a file on Steve as well. I mean, how many people get the chance to actually hear the historical accounts right from the horses' mouths?! Not fucking many, that's who! I had an amazing opportunity here and I wasn't going to waste it just because the subject in question was less than desirable to my tastes.

He had answers to questions that the great philosophers had been asking themselves for years. Things I had been asking myself for years about magic and the many uses of it. I had graduated from Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters at age physically 16 and came here immediately afterwards to expand my knowledge and spend some time in the world I used to fear. Now that I had a real support system, I could breathe easy out there and not fear being noticed as a vampire freak and stuffed into a lab. Or worse...

I didn't want to think about it.

I found him in the kitchen sipping on some drink I knew he stole from Tony's private stash in the back of the living room bar. Oh, when my uncle finds out... Let's just say that poor Thor was in for it, big time.

"Ah, the Lady Cassandra awakens at last! How do you fare, my nocturnal friend?" he asked, giving me a huge grin and setting his glass down on the island counter he was sitting at. I came around the other side and sat across from him, opening up my computer and getting out my file, ready to go.

He noticed and grinned more. "More questions for me tonight, my lady?" I nodded and politely smiled. "If you don't mind? I know you're busy and all, but I kinda have a lot of things to ask before this paper is due and it would be a great help to me." I typed out the date and time of this conversation. Thankfully, the Asgardian nodded.

"Of course." I smiled and began to interrogate him about all things Asgardian. The people. Were the Warriors Three as cool and legendary as they were supposed to be? Was Frigga really as beautiful, wise and powerful as she was rumored to be? Odin... was he as big a douche as I just KNEW he was? Heimdall, were his powers really that extensive or just grossly exaggerated over the course of time?

Just how long would Loki be held in jail for his crimes against this world? Thor shook his head sadly at me and looked away to the distance like whatever just came to mind really bothered him. I was nearly concerned too. His look was soft, sad and remorseful.

"Of that, I am not sure. Loki could be held as long as our father wishes and that is that. However, I have made an appeal to my father, allowing my brother to be held here on Midgard under my watch until his real trial. I am simply awaiting Heimdall's reply..."

I smiled an almost real smile now at the newest development in the Asgard saga of drama and suspense. Loki... come back to Earth? He had better find himself someone to defend him when he was called back up for his trial.
