I woke up two weeks later feeling great and excited. Today was the day! I was going to Asgard, the Realm Eternal. I tore off my black and purple comfortor and made my bed magically, then I brushed my hair, teeth, and stashed them in my suitcase I'd had packed since my trip back home and shrunk the case to the size of a Nintendo DS. Putting it in my purse for easier travel. I took one last glance in my mirror before heading out into the main library portion of my rooms. A 19 year old with raven black hair, pink lips, pale skin and forrest green eyes looked back at me. I pushed a stray hair from in front of my fave to behind my ear, perfect. Now I was ready to face the day that awaited me outside. And to find Loki of course.
I found him pretty fast.
He was on the couch in his favorite seat with the newest Brad Meltzer thriller. But I could tell his mind was elsewhere, nervous. It was understandable. He was about to be put on trial for crimes he didn't really commit, things he was controlled to do, here as well as back on Asgard. He tried to smile at me but it looked like he was trying to mask a gas he caused. "Hello Cassandra." He spoke, trying to be cherry but it came off kinda creepy and serial killy. I sat next to him on the couch and smiled reassuredly. "Its going to be ok Loki. Im going to give the council my rock solid defence and they will see your innocent." I said gently, willing him to get that wasn't going down without a fight. I was his friend and he was mine. And I was going to any thing in my power to ensure his safety. He nodded slowly, looking away from me, towards the door, hands in his lap now.
"But if they do not accept it they will likely throw you in with me. As an accomplice to my deeds. Are you prepared for that outcome?" He spoke softly, more to himself than to me, it was so low.
I scoffed.
"Ha, let them try. Theres no way in Hell I'm not going to fight back. And if they do stick me in a cell next to you at least I'll be in good company. Right?" I asked ressuredly. The Avengers would get wind and likely take the quinjet to Asgard and storm the place. My uncle Stark especially. He was afraid of my dad secretly and I really didn't think he wanted to go home to the farm and explain to my dad how he lost me on another planet. My dad had once been SHIELD level 9. Just the same as agents Hill or Coulson and just below Nick Fury himself actually. ( Which Coulson is still alive and comes over for holidays with us. Thought y'all should know. *winks* ) So, seeing my pa angry would be like poking the momma and papa bear at the same time. Not good for anybody at all if you catch my drift. I was adopted without a mom. My dad wasn't ever married so he was both mom and dad at the same time. Plus, I could bend shadows and darkness to my will, and also a frickin vampire, so there was that to take into account too. And immortal with the status of Queen of Darkness to the Avengers. Ruler of the night. People on Asgard had another thing coming if they thought I was just some mewling quim to push around.
Loki looked back at me surprised.
Guess my boldness and arrogance about being thrown in a cell caught him off guard.
"You seem very assured of yourself." He gave me a very scrutinizing gaze, gauging how much of the truth I really was telling him. "But why, I wonder?" He asked wistfully but at the same time his look intensifying. Now it was my turn to look away from him, chuckling darkly. Looking anywhere but at the god on the sofa with the sad eyes. "It wouldn't be the first time I was thrown into a cell because of my ignorance." I said softly, taking a slow walk over to the desk, opening a drawer and pulling out the folder contains his defence inside. Just a plain manilla envelope marked "Loki" in my elegant handwriting. I still hadn't turned back to him to see his reaction to my previous comments and my thoughts drifted elsewhere, to the laboratory they had kept me in one summer when I was supposed to be an intern. When I still attended Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
