I hung out with Clint and Nat a long time, nearly the whole day and it was nice to just chill out with them like old times at the Shield base they kept me in the first year after Cairofreeze. Goofing off, sharing some gossip and trash talking the other Avengers while they weren't around. ( Like a certain uncle of mine, wink. ) Clint was messing with the pool music system while talking.
"And Steve's obviously got a thing for Cass...." He said looking my way with a teasing grin. I didn't blush thankfully. That would have been bad...considering I still wasn't sure how I felt about the blond super soldier. Natasha nodded and smiled too at me, nudging me with an elbow. "Yeah, he's really excited about tonight, won't stop talking about it all week. Its been driving me insane!" She said loudly. I blinked in confusion.
"What about tonight?"
She looked confused, tipping her sunglasses down to look at me properly in my chair. Peering at me with an intense look that said there was something I was clearly missing. Natasha blinked. "Uhhh....your date to the museum tonight? Its all he's been looking forward to this entire time...you forgot, didn't you?" I looked at the clock. It was nearly 6!
"Oh shit! Oh shit!" I jumped up quickly and grabbed my towel. How could I forget tonight?! Oh my sweet love of Asguard....I had to MOVE if I was going to be ready by seven. My cloak floated to me, and I grabbed my phone, IPod and key card. Then I turned to the two, now laughing, assasians. Glaring really good at them both. "Hey! Its been a long week alright! So I forgot, so what? I'll be ready in time!" I defended myself poorly. Clint was still laughing in his seat. "Hey, it's all good. We warned you in time, and Steve won't even know you forgot the one day he's likely had penned in red ink ...with a heart..." He teased and now I felt the dreaded heat creep its way onto my cheeks. He pointed at my face. "Ha! Evidence! You like Steve!" He yelled, echoing off the walls. I glared harder. This was making me not only stressed out but mad.
"I do not! I...I'm not sure if I do or don't ok?" I huffed crossing my arms. Natasha looked at her partner. "Clint..let her go, she has a lot to do if she's going to be ready in time. Plus, don't tease her, let her figure out her feelings by herself. If its meant to be, it'll happen." Then she turned to me. "Go, we will lock up after we're done. Have fun, but not too much ok? Let's not give the old man a heart attack alright?" I groaned rolling my eyes. "Fine, make sure Jarvis locks up and I'll see you guys later, text you if something happens.." I ran off and back to my room at top speeds. Passing one very confused Loki on the couch.
He came to my door after I got dressed in a dark blue casual dress with simple black heels and putting on a bit of makeup to even it out. I wasn't trying too hard I hoped. I didnt want to seem like I was trying to impress him, but still looking as if I remembered it. "You look beautiful..." Loki said quietly. I blushed as I did my hair quickly. "Thanks, but I'm not sure about the dress, i don't want to look like I'm trying to date him, but still look like I remembered tonight."
I heard him chuckle slightly. "You forgot your date with the Soldier..." I blushed more and nodded. "Yeeeaahh.....kinda." I admitted sheepishly and looking at him. His smile was small but I could tell Loki was enjoying my mistake. Those green eyes of his sparking with mischievous happiness. He was soaking this up like Spongebob on water after being in Sandy's dome without a helmet. "Your really enjoying this, aren't you?" I teased. He shrugged, putting his hands in his pants pockets with a smirk. "yes, kinda." I shook my head with a smile, going back to my mirror. A second passed.
"You should wear jeans."
I stopped brushing. "What?" I asked. Loki shrugged again, gracefully crossing the room in one stride and standing behind my vanity and looking at me. "I said you should wear jeans. Be yourself..." He sighed sadly and I saw something cross his face. "If your worried if it looks good its obvious your not comfortable or confident in it. Therefore, not yourself. And I for one, enjoy you when your not trying to impress anyone. " I let that sink in and found my friend had a point. If I was dressing and worried about the look, I wasn't being true to myself and that made me smile.
