The hotel was right across from the arena where the the convention was being held, and already the place was PACKED with people. The men in my car were now looking as tho they wanted to leap from the windows from singing too much Disney songs. I smiled to myself at one particular memory where both versions of "Let it Go" played...back to glorious back. It was amazing to see And I was feeling exreamly proud of myself, personally torturing a god and a super soldier simultaneously. Pulling into the driveway and looking at the two seriously and picking up my purse.

"Ok, I have to into the hotel and check us in. " I glared menacingly at both as I spoke. "I swear, if you fight, argue, attempt to kill or maim in any way ..and I will personally end your existances with more Disney magic. Have I made myself clear as the brightest crystal?"  They looked at me in slight fear, but nodded after the shock wore off in a minute. "Got it Cass."

"Of course Lady Cass, as you wish.."

I dropped my threatening glare and smiled warmly at them. "Kk, see you in a jiffy!" I said excitedly, slamming the car door and going inside to check in. The lady at the counter somewhat looked like Pepper, but with more hair volume and not as tight a skirt. "Welcome to the Sunny Shores Hotel and Resort. Where everyday, during your stay, is a sunny one!" She beamed. "How may I help you today?" I smiled politely at her and feeling bad for her at the same time, because that was a terrible slogan. "Yes, I have two rooms reserved. Adjoining?"  She nodded and started typing on her computer. "Your name?"

"It should be under Smith....."

"Cassey Smith, that you?!" I turned around and saw my old Youtuber buddy MatPat. From the channels known as Film Theory and Game Theory. And a whole bunch of other stuff now, including a series on Nickelodeon. I was happy his brand had expanded from his earlier days and gave him a hug. "Hey Mat! Its been a long time. How's your wife?" He beamed and pointed to a couch in the waiting area where a beautiful woman with long brown hair sat with a baby carrier. "She's great actually! And you? Last I heard from Grayson you weren't doing YouTube anymore and helping your uncle in New York." I nodded. Of course the old crowd would ask about me...I felt touched kinda. "Yeah, since that attack on the city I've been helping him with the Avengers. I'm glad I was able to get off a week to come here." Mat looked like he was thinking long and hard on my words and trying find a deeper meaning in them. Such a theorist...

"Uh huh....you know, I have a theory about that...."

I smiled and laughed. Yup, he had a theory on that, on basically everything. And knowing the now legandairy MatPat as long as I had, you know he did his research for hours on end to back up his theory before he even declared it. Part of me was scared of how close he might be with his theory, like his Five Nights at Freddie's ones....

"Hes still here right? Loki. He has to be...I mean, all the evidence backs this up." He looked hard at me hoping I'd give something away that would prove him right. But I knew better than to let on the government's secrets. Or my family's for that matter. So I dropped a subtle hint, just enough to make his brain think on my words for hours. "I can't tell you, but wouldn't that be a matter of national security Mat? And even if I did know.....wouldn't I have one of them with me here? The Avengers? " I smiled and the lady at the counter grabbed my attention.

"Your keys, ma'am."

I took them and went back to MatPat. He was already firing on all cylinders, I could tell by his face. "So...your saying...he's here, but you can't tell me because of the goverment..." He nodded knowingly and I just smiled a secret smile at him, shrugging nonchalantly and twirling the keys on my finger. "What is you say Mat?...." I looked at him. "Its just a theory?....." He was going to say something more but his wife called him over to the couch and I took my chance to leave.

The guys seemed civil as I opened the door. "Ok, we are in room 4B. It adjoins so if you need me, you can cross into my room from a door inside, but only if you knock of course. Don't want you walking in on me do I?" I smiled at them. Getting happier and more relaxed as this day went on already. Seeing Mat, and knowing how many of my old friends I would see today made me lighter and lighter, more excited and the two could tell, because they smiled back at me. "Let's go guys! Relaxation awaits us!" I exclaimed opening the trunk and getting our luggage out. Steve tried taking his shield in but I told him not to, cause, duh. Suppose to be in disguise....We rolled and carried our stuff to our separate rooms. Loki and Steve in one, me in the other. I closed my door and opened my suitcase, pulling out a cosplay outfit of a modern vampire. He heeeee....always good to be yourself right? But this outfit had to have cool hair to pull it off so I said a color changing speel I'd found in one of my books and changed my hair to pink and purple for the day. I had to say it, I looked pretty rad once the whole thing was together and in place. Finishing the look off with a hood cape and a pink streak under my eye.

Loki came through the other door just as I was getting done and putting my makeup away.

"You.... Look ..stunning..." I blushed and turned my back to him, putting my brush back in my bag. "Thanks Loki. I did explain the concept of cosplay to you right?" I felt the blush leave now and turned to look at him. He was dressed as himself. Original....But hey, it was the right definition of cosplay I guess...dressing as anyone and going to the convention. If only we had entered him in a contest, we'd of won, hands down. Ah, missed opportunities. "Yes, you did. Is this correctly done my fr...friend?" Did Loki just stumble on the word friend or was that my imagination? I ignored that and nodded with a smile. "It sure is dude, good idea too. Being yourself so no one thinks its the real you." He smiled and shrugged. "But of course, I AM Loki, master of deciet and lies, wooer of women, faller of nations and -"  I was laughing and he stopped, looking confused. "Excuse me, what did I say that amused you?" I laughed a bit longer shaking my head, eventually calming down enough to speak. "Y...you said your a w..wooer of women.." I smiled. "I find that extremely hard to believe Loki, sorry...." He rose an eyebrow, shutting the adjoining door and smirking at me mischievously.

" Is that so, Cassandra? "

He took a few steps towards me, slowly. The earnings he gave me glowed as his shadow covered me from his height, making it dark enough to cause them to glow and illuminating his face in such a way that I knew why ancient man had thought Asguardians to be gods. Loki was beautiful, handsome, any woman alive couldn't deny his classic good looks. But this was also my best friend since joining the Avengers a year ago, a man, no, a god who was also a fierce warrior and murderer....but I never saw that part of him. I always saw the good, kind, funny and brooding man underneath.

"Your face....you seem confused.."

He chuckled, looking down at me with that smirk of his never faltering. "You need not be confused my dear, for you are quite beautiful, etherial, and how you don't seem to grasp you are so, is a crime unto itself. But I'm not going to woo you Cassandra when you and the Soldier deserve each other, he's a good man who will treat you as you deserve to be treated. And I may flirt for his writhing enjoyment but I will not dare attempt to take what's his." He leaned over, kissing my cheek slowly and carefully,as though I was glass or porcelain. I blushed furiously but also stared at my friend in confusion, wonder. Why was he being so kind right now? I knew why then....the answer to my question on the plane.

He..... didn't... like me, the way I did him......

"Y...you think...I should be with Steve?... " I blinked up at him. "You...think he's a good match for me Loki?" I asked in shocked surprise and fely my heart plummet as he nodded smiling at me. "Of course I do. He's the only man who I believe is good enough for you, and as I know he adores you. And I, as your friend, say you should court with him and not keep him waiting much longer to tell him your his. Its crushing his heart to wait.... not knowing this. " He finished up his speech and backed up, smiling politely. "Perhaps today? During your convenintion would be perfect. And I will allow you to, by behaving myself and walking about as I am supposed to. Now, I shall see if the Soldier is ready to venture forth to the arena across the street....." He left me then, closing the door behind him with a final click.

A click that sounded the end of my feelings, the ones I thought we shared....but now, I guessed I was a stupid girl. A mewling quim with a crush on the God of Mischief.....And I didn't realize I felt this way for him.....

Until it was too late.
