The Fallen Knight

Finn- We have a plan....Right

"This is a mess. If Rey we're here she wouldn't let you do this either." Finn said for the millionth time.

"Finn, Rey would have had less of a chance stopping me than you are. In fact she would have come with me."

"I just don't understand why she isn't here now." Finn hung his head in his seat. He missed his best friend.

"Rey made her choice. She wasn't ready to lead. She barely understood the Force, she needed time and she needed to learn." Leia reached over and squeezed Finn's arm. "Not everyone can just join the other side." Finn shook his head and looked forward again.

"What exactly is this plan again?" He didn't look at Leia now.

"You are going to do what you do best. Sneak around and see what you can break. Find a way to deactivate the weapon. I will speak with this Lord Mathis if he has my son I will not let him get away with this."

"And what if it was a lie? What if he is already dead?" Finn still didn't look at the General.

"He is not dead, I would have felt him die. Ben may have fallen to the darkside but I am his mother and I know my son's signature."

"Alright. I'm not even going to pretend I understand that. Let's just get this over with, I don't like feeling helpless."

It didn't take long to arrive in Endors system. The shuttle was fast and autopilot was a great help. Finn watched as Leia maneuvered the ship into a clearing just big enough for the shuttle.

"Where did you learn to fly?" Finn asked as Leia reach forward to disengage the ramp.

"My husband was a pilot Finn, and Han wasn't always sober enough to fly, especially anytime Correllian Whiskey was involved." she smiled at him and he could she how tired she was.

"General, I'm sorry." Finn reached for her hand. "Are you sure you want to do this? This Mathis guy is a madman."

"You are probably right, but I have hope. Now I need you to find a way to deactivate this weapon, I will go and meet this asshole." She smiled and Finn felt his face turn beet red. It wasn't often that the general of the resistance let cuss words slip.

Leia moved to the ramps controls at the back of the ship. Finn watched as she deactivated the lock before turning to face him again.

"Finn, may the force be with you."

"And with you, General." She smiled and he watched as she left the ship before returning to face the controls.

"Alright you can come out now." Finn spoke aloud and waited.

"You know, I still want to know how you always figure it out." a voice sounded from behind him.

"Poe, you aren't exactly sneaky and I can smell your cologne."

"Ahh, that's what gives me away. Well you know I only wear it because it's your favorite." Poe snaked his arms around Finn's neck.

Finn rolled his eyes and looked at Poe. He wondered what Rey would have said about the two of them. It wasn't exactly common knowledge but Rose and he had decided that they were better friends than anything else.

"Finn, I was wondering if we could talk?"

"Uh yea sure what's up?" He looked up at Rose from the Holopad he had borrowed from Rey.

"Do you think we get along well?" He froze his mind racing ahead.

Oh no.

"Well, I think we get along pretty well, why."

"Uhm." Rose looked away, she was chewing on her lip, something she only did when she was nervous."

"We're better as friends aren't we?" He finally said, his heart was hammering in his ears.

"I mean, is that what you really think?" She finally looked at him and he smiled.

"Rose, look you're one of the most amazing women I know, I just...don't feel the chemistry."

"Oh my goodness, thank gosh." Relief crossed her face and she sat down next to him.

"Wait what?" Finn sat up and stared at her. "Really you're ok with that?"

"Oh my goodness yes, Finn you're a great person, truly and I do like you. But I also don't feel the chemistry. I didn't want to hurt you but I don't think we match as a couple ya know? Plus I can tell that you have the hots for a certain pilot."

Finn's eyes widened and he could feel his face turning red. "What.... I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh come on Finn I'm not stupid, also I love it, you two would be so adorable."

"Really? You think so?" he smiled at her sheepishly."

"EEEEEK I knew it!" Rose squealed and reached forward to hug him. "Tell me everything?"

"So what is the plan, I assume you have one since you snuck onto this ship. Who did you leave in charge by the way?"

"Connix, and as a matter of fact I do have a plan."

"Does it involve blowing something up?"

"Doesn't it always?" Poe smiled and Finn shook his head. Poe was nothing if not predictable.

"Alright well let's go then because I don't want to miss dinner, they are serving pie tonight."

"You and your pie." Poe laughed and let go of Finn. "First of all we need to disable this weapon. I got a view from the sky before we landed. It looks like they were smart and made the Thermal Oscillator harder to get to. In fact it seems like there is only one way in and out which could be a potential problem.

"Not to mention we had a team last time, and you in the sky." Finn stood up and followed Poe to the back of the shuttle. "We're alone this time, unless you have anyone coming to meet us?" He glanced at the pilot who was hastily shoving several charges and a detonator into a sack.

"Unfortunately no, the Resistance is still to small we can't mount a full scale attack with the few pilots we have. Plus I am down here so who would lead them?" He shot Finn a smile and Finn felt his heart race. He was always so cocky. "We just need to get into the base and find the Oscillator, these charges will take care of it. Then we rescue Leia."

"Alright. As long as we are far away from this planet before we blow anything up. Maybe only having two of us will be an advantage."

"Let's hope so." Poe stood up and reached for Finn's hand. "I love you, you know that right?" He pulled him close and Finn stared into his eyes.

"Yes I do, and I've loved you since the day I met you, were going to make it out of this. We always do." Finn pulled Poe in until he could capture the pilots lips in his. Poe dropped the sack and his arms snaked around Finn's waist. Their kiss deepened and Finn could feel himself melting in Poe's arms. What he wouldn't give to be anywhere else with his Pilot.

"So, how long has this been a thing?" A familiar voice sounded and both men froze.

Finn looked behind Poe, his eyes nearly popping out of his head when he saw the person who was standing at the bottom of the shuttle's ramp. He was out of Poe's arms and down the ramp in seconds.

"Rey!!" His arms wrapped around her shoulders and they both nearly fell over laughing. "Rey, where have you been? I've missed you so much! Tell me everything!"
