I looked down at Jade as I brushed her hair. She watched a show on TV as I did. I smiled at her. Then my smile disappeared. All those thoughts I had of when I was pregnant came back. Those thoughts when I wished I wasn't pregnant with her.
If I could go back in time and stop myself from thinking those bad thoughts.....I shook my head. It's in the past Angel. Jade looked up at me. I smiled. "Hey princess." I said. She turned around and hugged me. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I miss Daddy." She said.
"He's coming back soon." I said. Hunter left with Kyle and Lucas. They went swimming with Jeremiah and helped Elease get some seaweed for a potion. Hunter left about two hours ago. Though I love Hunter, I was jealous that Jade loved spending more time with him than me.
Hunter told me that she might be going through a phase. I still didn't like it. I looked down at Jade. "Do you love Daddy more than me?" I asked, without thinking. She shook her head. "No Mama. I love you more." She said, smiling. I didn't smile. I still felt lesser than Hunter.
I stood up and walked out the room and downstairs. Jade followed me. "Mama?" She called. "I'm just going to get a snack." I said. She ran downstairs and hugged my leg. I don't know why but I felt angry. A tear escaped my eye. I quickly wiped it away. I heard the door open. "Daddy!!" Jade cried.
She ran over to him. I turned my back and walked away. "Hey princess. Angel?" Hunter called. I didn't answer. I didn't look at him. I walked downstairs to the basement. I looked around at everything. Jade's tricycle. Her stuffed animals. All the pool floaties. Everything. I heard the door open. Then footsteps.
"Angel what are you doing down here?" Hunter asked. I shook my head. "Just looking for something." I lied. I walked back upstairs. I tried walk around him but he grabbed my arm. "Hey!" He said. I pushed him off. He stared at me. Tears streamed down my face. Hunter then hugged me.
"Angel what's wrong?" He asked. I shook my head and laid my head down on his shoulder. "Calm down. It's okay." Hunter whispered. He cooed me. I wiped my face. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Jade." I said. "What she do?" He asked. "I still feel second to you." I said. He scoffed.
"Angel we've been over this baby. She's just going through a phase. Spend more time with her." He said. "I'm trying but all she can think about is you." I said. "Angel she's only six." He said. "That doesn't make me feel better." I said. He pulled me away and upstairs. I saw Jade sitting on the bed.
She looked at us. "Daddy!!" She cried. I looked at Hunter. He didn't say anything. I was about to walk out but Hunter tightened his grip on me. "Stop it." He whispered. He looked at Jade. "Jade why don't you and Mama go for a swim?" He said. She stared at him. "Why?" She asked. My heart dropped.
I walked out the room and downstairs. "Angel!!" Hunter called. I didn't answer. I walked out the door and straight for the lake. I dove in and swam away.
