"They don't call it Mako Island for nothing. It's surrounded by sharks. It's a shark breeding ground." Alex said. "Exactly." Eliza said. "Well right now, that's the only place that's safe for us." I said. Just then, something bumped the side of boat...
I stared up at the ceiling, hoping it came crashing down on me. I let a tear escape my eye. The event from earlier kept rewinding in my head. Me, Alex, and Eliza went to the Kind and Queen's pool party. But me and Evelyn got into it and her friends pushed us into the water. Everyone didn't see us, but three people did.
Kyle and Lucas saw us. And Hunter. They saw our tails. We were so scared, we ran off. They tried calling for us but we were so scared and frightened. We ran back to my house and stayed upstairs in my room all day. They asked their parents if they could stay the night. I looked over at them.
They both had their backs to me but I feel like they were both awake. This is something big. Our secret got exposed to Hunter, Kyle, and Lucas. We were so upset. I slowly crawled out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I stared at myself in the mirror and began to cry silently. Then I heard a sigh. I turned my head to see Eliza staring at me.
"Angel we can't see them again." She said. Her eyes began to water. "Yeah." Alex said, as she sat up. She also had tears in her eyes. "We go to the same fucking school. How are we not gonna see them?!" I cried. "You're right. They're not gonna leave us alone about this. You saw how they were when we were busy with Elease practicing our powers." Eliza said.
"So what should we do?" I asked. "We gotta run." Alex said. "Run? Run where?" I asked. "We gotta run away. They probably won't keep our secret." She said. "Why wouldn't they?" I asked. "Three mermaids living in this kingdom? Hunter probably told his parents who we are and are probably already looking for us." She said.
"If they were, they would've been came and got us." Eliza said. I sighed. "We gotta do something. We'll convince them to keep our secret. The have to." I said. "Or what?" Alex asked. "Huh?" I asked. "If they don't keep our secret, what are we gonna do?" She asked. "Then we'll go with your idea Alex. We'll run away." I said.
"Where we would we go?" Eliza asked. "The Bahamas?" Alex suggested. We smiled. "Alright." I said. I climbed back in bed next to them before I sat up. "Guys I'm sorry but I'm still worried. I'm gonna go got a swim. Maybe that will calm me down." I said. "We'll come with. I need to relax too." Eliza said.
We got up, got dressed, and headed downstairs and out the door. We made sure to not wake my Mama. We walked out to the lake and dove in the water. We swam all the way out to sea. We swam straight to Mako Island and to our moon pool. We swam in and surfaced.
