Chapter 22: Labor

Hunter's POV:

Ever since we came back from the hospital, I've been on edge. Angel kept talking about how the man from the hospital was popping up at places. I thought Angel just needed some sleep or that she needed some food but I guess she was telling the truth. The doctor told us there was high levels of cyanide in her food.

Ever since, I didn't trust fast food joints. Any and every food Angel wanted, I had it prepared in front of us. I even made the guards taste test it to be sure. I wasn't taking no chances. Then Angel came up with the idea on how Evelyn May have had something to do with the poisoned ice cream.

I didn't think it was possible as she and her family have not been seen since the royals dinner. This was months ago. Now that Angel is nine months pregnant and almost ready to pop, I was on guard at all times. I upped security whenever we went out. I made sure we were completely covered. Even at home, I wasn't entirely sure.

Nothing got past me. Not even my own two best friends could come in the house unless I was absolutely sure they were by themselves. Even Eliza, Alex, and Elease had to wait outside until I let them in. I was taking zero chances. I never been more paranoid in my life. Everywhere I went, I would have the guards make triple sure we were clear. If anyone looked suspicious, they'd have to leave.

I was dead serious about this. I felt a hand touch my lower back. I jumped. I looked up to see Elease. "Hunter relax. You've been so jumpy lately." She said, as she sat down in front of me. "I can't help it. My paranoia is way up." I said. "Man if you don't relax." Lucas said. "Yeah Hunter. You know we got your back if anything were to happen ." Kyle said.

"And I appreciate that." I said. "Hunter go swim, get a massage, or something. You really need to relax." Elease said. "I can't. I'm too riled up." I said. "Well do something." She said. I stood up and stretched before sitting back down. She frowned at me. "Really?" She said. "I don't know what to do." I said.

"Relax." Kyle said. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. "King Hunter?" Someone called. I looked up to see a guard. "You have a visitor." He said. I got up but Elease sat me back down. "I will check and who it is. You stay here and try to relax. Listen to some music or something." She said, as she walked out. I turned on the computer and switched to security cameras.

It was a minute before Elease showed up downstairs on the camera. I switched to outside monitors. I also bought a new house so me and Angel could live in it. I had security cameras installed in every angle possible. I saw Misha standing outside with boxes of pizza. Elease opened the door and let her in. "You don't think Misha would poison her own daughter?" I asked, looking at the guys.

They stared at me. "Sorry. This paranoia has gotten to me." I said. "We've noticed." Lucas said. I switched cameras and saw Angel and the girls sitting on tables. They've all been showing signs that they might pop soon. So I set up tables and secret doctors and nurse to keep and eye on all three of them. I didn't trust the hospital in the kingdom.

Mainly since Angel describes the guy she think is stalking her and because if Evelyn did somehow get inside the kingdom without anyone knowing, I didn't want her getting to Angel. "Hunter?" Someone called. I jumped and looked up to see Elease and Misha. Elease sighed. "Hunter you gotta stop that." She said.

"Yeah boy. You've been so jumpy these past few months." Misha said. "I'm sorry." I said. "Well I brought pizzas in case any of you were hungry. Me and Ja'Von ate some on the way here." She said. "Where is he?" Lucas asked. "He's planning our date night." She said, smiling. "Oh that's lovely." Elease said. "It is." Misha said. The she looked sad.
