Chapter 13: A New Friend

Angel's POV:

After Prince Hunter little surprise pop up last week, Mama has been suspicious of me and him. I told her there was nothing going on, even though I did like him. Him popping up at my house surprised me too. I didn't know what to think. Hunter said we were friends but I didn't even know we were.

Him telling me not to call him prince made me feel uncomfortable. He was the prince so I told him that I just felt like I should. I could tell it bothered him when I did. He always gave me a sideways glance but he didn't say anything. I looked at him as he rubbed gel on his sister's arm. It was getting better. She didn't have to wear her arm sling anymore.

She was able to bend it too. She just couldn't write with it or hold things. She had it wrapped in a cute pink cast. "There." Hunter said. Violet smiled and hugged her brother. I smiled. "Well I certainly hope you don't actually do that." Eliza said, as she walked in the room. Lucas walked in behind her. "Do what?" Alex asked.

She turned around on the couch, slapping me with her hair in the process. "He said he used to do track and that he could outrun a cougar. Cougars are fast." Eliza said, as she dropped down on the couch next to me, causing me to bounce. "Dude cougars are no joke. They use stealth. They will sneak up on you in a heartbeat." Hunter said.

Lucas scoffed. "I know that. I still run track. I could probably catch up to a cougar if it started to run." He said. "Dude no way. Cougars are light on their feet." Alex said. "Exactly. You'd be no match." Eliza said. "Wow. Thanks for the support you guys." Lucas said, as he sat down next to Kyle, who was quiet this whole time.

I looked at him. He looked sad. "Kyle you okay?" I asked. He nodded without looking at me. "Bro no you're not." Hunter said. "I'm fine." Kyle said. We stared at him. "Y'all really. I'm fine. I'm just hungry." He said. We didn't believe him. "Okay fine. I might be moving next week." He said. "What?!" Hunter and Lucas cried.

"Yeah. My Dad was offered a promotion at work and if he takes it, we'll have to move away to Washington." Kyle said. Hunter and Lucas looked heartbroken. "Aw Kyle." Alex said. She went over and hugged him. "I don't want to go." He said. Then he looked up at me. "Angel when your Mom made y'all move, did you like it?" He asked.

All eyes were on me. I shook my head. "Nope. I miss everyone back home. But I told you guys about my ex boyfriend and ex best friend so the silver lining to us moving is that I don't ever have to see them again. Another silver lining is that I met two awesome dope girls my first day here." I said. I grinned at Eliza and Alex. They hugged me.

Kyle blew a breath. "I'm going home." He said. "No Kyle don't." Hunter said. "Man you can't leave. We've been boys since we were five. We've always been together." Lucas said. "What can I do?" Kyle said. He got up and walked out the door. I looked at Hunter. He shook his head and walked off towards the stairs.

Lucas went after him. "So I guess we leave?" Alex said. I nodded. We got out and walked out the door. We saw Kyle walking in the distance. "Alex say something." Eliza said. Alex looked at her. "Say what?" She asked. "Go ahead and tell him you like him before it's too late." I said. Alex had a crush on Kyle since the interview but she kept her cool.

Eliza had a crush on Lucas but never said anything and I had a crush on Hunter and I know I can't say anything. I don't even think he goes for black girls. "What can I say to him? Besides it wouldn't matter. We might be leaving next week." Alex said, sadly. "That's more of a reason to go tell him how you feel." I said.

She thought about it groaning in frustration. "Kyle!!" She called. She ran up to him. He looked at her. She began talking to him. They talked when suddenly Kyle kissed her. Me and Eliza squealed and cheered. "Fuck it up Alex!!" I screamed. Alex blushed. Eliza cheered. Alex blushed harder. Kyle smiled and walked away.
