The Adventures of Agent 9 (Book 1)

Line J (part 1) The Third Thang and The Agent 3s

Niki woke up early in the morning. Her tentacles flexed as she stretched her muscles, and sat up. While she stood to her feet, a few memories came back in small fragments. An argument with Kai? Why would I do that? He's nice!

Niki shrugged and walked into the next car over. Her eyes looked over to see Kai sleeping peacefully on the seats parallel to the Captain. She put her hand on his shoulder to wake him up, but paused. I shouldn't do that. I just had a relaxing day, so why can't he? She roamed over to the end of the car and opened her map. She caught sight of two more levels that had been completed. Nice job, Kai. I'm impressed! She moved the dot over to the next line, Line J.

She looked at the name of the level before she clicked it, the words "Girl Power Station" in bold.

"Well, this one looks fun!" Niki chose the test and was dropped off at the station. She picked the regular splat bomb and entered the level.

Niki glanced around and saw some of the Octarian soldiers waiting for her to attack. She saw a multitude of weapons before her. Niki smiled confidently, running over to the charger as she jumped into the map. She grabbed the armor and a splashdown, staying quiet and listening for her first target. An Octarian giggle followed by the crack of a box hit her ears.

Niki stood on top of the boxes, and splatted the first Octarian. She jumped down and threw a bomb towards the other two, stopping them in their tracks.

She continued to do this and splatted the next four with bombs and her charger. They progressively became quicker, but Niki splatted them all, laughing after each kill. Soon enough, the time was up!

I DID IT FIRST TRY!?

Niki brushed herself off and picked another level, one where you had to match the shape. That was too easy! ...Then again, I did use the easiest weapon!

Niki opened the map once more, searching for a challenge. A station called "Cool Your Jets" caught her eye. She chose the Inkjet, and noticed that she had to beat The Octo Shower Supreme! She splatted each of the Octarians holding up the shower, and finished off the level.
     
She wiped away the small droplets of sweat off her forehead and smiled. I'm gonna stop here, I'm exhausted...but I wonder what the next test is? She opened the map back up and squealed.

"Oh my gosh! The third Thang! I can't believe it!" Niki jumped up and down.

Kai sat up and rubbed his eyes, "Huh? What's going-"

Niki cut him off, "The third Thang! The third Thang! It's right here! We are almost done and we're almost to the Promised Land!"

"What?! Really!" Kai sprung up out of his seat.

"Yeah! Are you ready to get the third Thang?!"

Kai jumped up as well, his feet screaming in pain as he ignored them. "Yes, yes, yes! I'm so ready! Let's get it!"

Niki and Kai chose the test and were taken there. They grabbed their splatter shots and walked slowly towards the third Thang. Approaching it, they smiled to each other. Once it popped, they picked it up and brought it back to the main station.

"Congratulations! You have gotten the third thang! You are one step closer to [ERROR]! Good luck!" The telephone stated.

"Yay! I'm so excited! I can't wait to get my memories back and get out of this awful place!" Niki said.

"Yeah me too," Kai hopped from side to side, partially soothing his feet.

"Hey Kai! Can you come here for a second?" Captain Cuttlefish asked.

"Yeah? Sure." Kai walked over to him. "What do you need?"

"Well, I'm just wondering....have you have seen the Agent Threes?"

"Um no, but-"

"Do you know what they look like?"

"I was about to say I have a vague memory of them."

"Oh? Can you tell me?"

"Yes, one has..." His eyes darted around the room

"Purple tentacles! And the other...green! The purple tentacled one has midnight-blue eyes and the other a hazel orange! I think..."

"Really? Thank you! Well, you both may go back. You only have one more Thang to get!"

"Alright, thank you!"

Niki and Kai sat inside the subway car.

"Only one more to go..." Niki looked out the window into the outside.

"Yeah, we're almost free of this...I just can't wait to go home. I can't wait to remember."
