"Im.....sorry"

The room was silent. Niki and Kai looked at each other, Kai with a shocked face, and Niki with a saddened one.

"I'm sorry Kai...." Niki walked fully into the room her arms crossed over her chest.

Kai looked at her his eyes widened from shock. "I don't understand. I thought you hated me."

"I never hated you, I was just scared to make a new friend....l

"You consider me a friend?" Kai asks her.

Niki looks up at him her eyes glossy. "Yes, I do consider you a friend Kai, I always have but I never wanted to admit it."

"Oh, you have but then why were you so harsh?"

"I isolated myself...."

"Why?" Kai looked up at her from his hospital bed.

"Because, Because I lost someone I love very much..... And I don't know if he is dead, or if he even remembers me if he is alive!" Warm tears started to rush down her face.

"You lost someone?" Kai had a sympathy look on his face. Tears starting to fill his eyes from the memories with his sister from the past.

Niki nodded her head. She covers her face because she was too ashamed to let Kai see her cry.

"I understand......." Kai looks at her, and an innocent look on his face.

"Y-you do? But....." Niki looks at him with shock on her face.

"Yeah, I do. I just don't want to talk about it.

"Well, I'm sorry Kai. I'm sorry I was so harsh." Niki whipped away her tears and straightened up. "Well let's get you out of this place, I'll call the doctor."

Niki ran out and got a doctor to release Kai. Kai hoped into a wheelchair and started to test it out. The doctor said that he could keep the wheelchair because he would be using it for a while, but they had to pay for it.

Niki pulled out her wallet when to the front desk and paid. After that Niki started to walk Kai to his apartment to make sure he would get home safe.

As they were walking Niki looked at Kai, who had already gotten the hang of his wheelchair. There was a smile on his face.

"Hay Kai?"

Kai looked over at her a curious look on his face. "Yes, what is it?"

"Kaia got out of the hospital this morning I just wanted to let you know."

"Kaia?" Kai looked at her puzzled.

"8...."

"Ohhhhhhh ok! So that's her real name?"

"Kai we already went over this!" Niki facepalmed.

"Oh yeah!!! Right!!!! I remember!!!"

"Kai you're really dense!"

"Uh, what does that mean?" Kai looked up at her.

"My point exactly."

"Huh?"

After that, there was once again silence. After a while, they got to the apartment where Kai stayed, but just before they waved goodbye, Niki looked at him like paused like she had something to say.

"Yes?" Kai looked at her puzzled.

"You can join our team...."

"What?! Really!!!" Kai's face lit up, his eyes gleamed. "But can I....."

"Yes, you can pick out the team name...."

"Yay!!! Thank you so much!! You know what, bring the whole team together tomorrow! Then we can come up with a team name!"

"Ok, I'll let them know."

"Yay! Thank you so much Niki!"

"No problem Kai"

After that, they waved goodbye. They were on good terms, and there were now friends.

Kai went Into his apartment and laid down on his bed. He was excited, he finally got a team. Now all he need to do was find his sister.
