The Sun Will Not Shine [LOKI LAUFEYSON]

I gasped as blood filled my mouth. I used all my remaining strength to sit up, spitting the blood out my mouth. It was only then i took the time to take in my surroundings. I was surrounded by the dead. People i considered friends, people of all ages. It broke my heart. We'd fought so hard to save them, and we failed. I spotted Hemdial just about still hanging onto life. I looked down and pulled a piece of glass from my arm. I winced but i was soon distracted by the sounds of posh squid ward.

"Hear me, and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan.... You may think this is suffering... no. It is salvation. Universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile..." He paused as he stabbed somebody who was still struggling to live. A tear rolled down my cheek but i quickly wiped it away with the back of my hand. "for even in death, you have become Children of Thanos" He continent and i scoffed.

I looked around the room once more, seeing Loki standing with Thanos' 'children'. He met my eye gaze and i could see hints that he was worried, but the strongest emotion was fear. He was scared. In my past 4 years of knowing him, i'd never seen him so scared before.

"I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right... yet to fail, nonetheless" Thanos spoke. He lifted Thor by the neck of his chest armour as Thor struggled to get out of his grasp.

"It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. I ask you, to what end? Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now, it's here. Or should I say... I AM" He said and i shook my head. I used my last remaining strength to push myself up off the floor. Loki looked over to me and shook his head not so subtly but i ignore him.

Thanos held up his hand. There it was, big, gold and obnoxious. The power stone was already there.

"that looks a little heavy, did you want me to carry it for you?" i asked sarcastically as he looked over at me. "you're a fighter, is that Midgard i smell on you?" He asked. "i'm from earth" I said, holding my head up to meet his gaze. "pathetic planet really, especially when they call earth's mightiest hero a metal man who hides behind a suit" He remarked which boiled my blood, i gripped my firsts angrily.

"You talk too much" Thor mumbled out. I looked down at him, he was defeated. He was bloody, bruised and weak. I'd never seen him like this. My heart ached for him.

"The Tesseract, or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference" Thanos said and i shook my head.

"Oh, I do. Kill away!" Loki said and i snapped my head over to him.

Thanos' facial expression changed to surprise briefly before he pressed the gauntlet to Thor's head. He began to shout in pain. "STOP THIS!" I shouted at Thanos, trying to run towards him but squid flicked his wrists and sent me flying into the wall, crushing my bones. I yelled out in pain. "your brother and your girl" Thanos chuckled evilly. I tried not to let them know how much pain i was in, but the guy started to increase the pressure. I dropped to the floor, screamed out as i grabbed my head.

"ALL RIGHT, STOP!" I heard Loki shout. The pain left me as i breathed heavily, hovering over.

"We don't have the Tesseract. It was destroyed on Asgard" Thor said and i looked up at Loki. I knew that wasn't true. I'd questioned him about it but he never gave me a true answer. I guess i'd get one now.

Loki glances over at Thor. He looked guilty. And there was my answer. I scoffed loudly as i slumped down to the ground. Loki looked over at me and went to step towards me. "the tesseract! now!" Thanos demanded. Loki sighed before lifting his right hand into the air and the Tesseract revealed itself.
