The Missing Part [POST ENDGAME]

I inhaled deeply as everybody started to leave. My feet were cramping in these heels and my heart was aching fit to burst but yes i contained to smile and socialised with people as if nothing was wrong. Asides from watching my brother sacrifice himself to save the planet, this was one of the hardest days.

It had just been Tony and I for so long, and now he'd left me. I've never felt more alone in this world. A part of me laughs about the fact Tony, Mom and Dad would be reunited. I bet Tony and Dad are already arguing over who has the biggest ego. I wonder if Tony has told him that he went back in time and actually met him when he was stealing the tesseract.

"thank you for coming" Pepper said once more as people were walking out of the front door. She closed it finally and dropped her happy face instantly. I locked eyes with her and for a moment there was a sense of understanding between us. Initially me and Pepper didn't get along very well, but over the years we've grown to become rather fond over each other, especially since Morgan came along. "thank you for everything you've done" She said walking up to me and i nodded. "i'm doing right by him, he'd want me to make sure you and Morgan are alright" i said with a sad smile and she placed a hand on my arms and squeezed it gently and i nodded. I took one final sip of my water before grabbing my jacket off the kitchen stool. "i should get going" i said and Pepper frowned at me. "you can stay here if you like? The spare bedroom is made up and hasn't been used since you were last here and Morgan really-" she started rambling and i just walked over to her and pulled her in for a hug. "i need to have some time alone, but i will be back soon, i'm only a phone call away" i said and she nodded, pulling back and wiping the tears from her cheeks. I smiled at her sadly as i turned to Morgan who was sitting on the sofa watching tv. "Bye Morgan!" i said happily at her and she jumped of the sofa and hugged me tightly. I picked her up and held her in my arms tightly. "be good to your mom" i said and she nodded happily. "when are you coming back?" she asked sadly and i tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "real soon, i promise" i said holding my pinky up and she smiled, wrapped her pinky around mine. I placed her back down on the floor and said my final goodbye to Pepper before closing to door to the cabin behind me. I exhaled deeply and forced my legs to take me to my car. I slid into the seat and started the ignition and began my journey back to the compound.

I turned the lights off on my car as i parked in the garage. I let out a deep sigh as i turned the ignition off and placed my hands on the steering wheel. Before i knew it, sharp pain was coursing through my body once again and tears streaming down my face. I let out sobs and could feel my lungs burning for air. I began to hit my steering wheel out of pure anger before crying out once more.

I inhaled deeply, wiping the tears from my face as i sniffed. I breathed normal breathes a few times before nodding to myself. I opened the door and climbed out of the car. I made my way towards the lift and grabbed a hold of my own hand to stop it from shaking. I was either crying my heart out or immensely angry. Those are the only two emotions i'd felt since Tony died. I was constantly exhausted, mentally and physically. I was trying to work through everything by myself but i was fighting a loosing battle.

"Good Evening Y/N" FRIDAY said to me as the elevator opened and i walked into the common room. I didn't rely on fear my voice would break. I tossed my car keys onto the kitchen worktop as i took my jacket off and laid it over the back of the sofa. "Y/N, there are some documents that require your signature, they're in the lab" FRIDAY said and i nodded. "okay" i mumbled quietly and made my way down the stairs. I came to the door to Tony's lab and inhaled deeply. I pressed my finger onto the scan and the door opened. I walked slowly down the stairs as my eyes glazed over the room. I saw the documents waiting on the table for me, FRIDAY had obviously printed them out already. I grabbed a pen out of the pen pot and signed. Pepper and I were now co-owners of Stark Industries. She said she couldn't handle the whole thing now she had Morgan full time so i offered to help despite me refusing to ever help my brother with it. "done" i said and slumped down in the office chair.
