I was Lost [Natasha Romanoff]

Imagine : You're Natasha's sister and you went missing on a mission over two years ago. You were held captive and had only managed to escape 6 months ago. You'd instantly gotten in contact with SHIELD and they'd checked your vitals and helped you get back in shape and up to fighting standards. One day during training you're called in for an avengers mission.

"i...can't" i sighed as i turned away from my sparring partner. "you've been procrastinating from seeing all your friends for the past six months. They mourned you" Fury said. "well then isn't it better it stays that way, it'll be a pretty big shock" I mumbled, climbing out of the ring and jumping down, standing next to Fury. "here's the file" he said handing it to me. I flipped through the pages, looking at all the distraction this Ultron thing had done. "it's difficult isn't it, to see all the destruction this thing has caused" Fury said, crossing his arms. "where do you want me" I replied, closing the file. "meeting room 2, 30 minutes" he said, seeming very happy that i didn't put up too much of a fuss. "oh and Y/N" Fury said and i nodded. "take a shower" he said and i laughed. I had just spent the past hour sparring and working out.

>>29 Minutes Later<<

Myself and Fury were waiting in the meeting room. I was sat down at the table, tapping my hands on the table nervously. "stop that" he said and i apologised under my breath. I glanced down to the file again, reading back over the brief. The door handle squeaked and it opened. I raised my head slowly and was met with Tony and Bruce. "y/n?" tony questioned. His face dropping, Bruce standing behind him looking like he was going to cry. "the one and only" i replied awkwardly, standing up. "how...but you..." he stuttered. "i'm alive, it took some time to feel it again, but i'm back" i said, smiling at him. He soon rushed towards me and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back, so happy to see him again. Tony and Bruce were like the older brothers i never had. "it's so good to see you" Bruce said and i chuckled, hugging him tightly too. "where the hell have you been?!" Tony suddenly exclaimed, going to slap my arm but i caught his arm in my hand, a nasty reflex is picked up after being beaten so many times during captivity. He looked at me with widened eyes as i hesitantly let it go. "Y/N was held captive for 18 months, when she escaped she made contact with SHIELD, she spent 3 months in intensive care and the next three months retraining and making sure she was fit for missions" Fury said expressionless. "did you not think to tell us?!" Bruce exclaimed. I placed my hand on his arm and he looked down at me, his anger fading.
"what's with the shouting?" A patriotic and righteous voice said from behind me. I smiled before turning around. "holy shit" Steve muttered. He wrapped his arms tightly around me, lifting me off the ground and kissing the side of my head. "where have you been!" he said, not letting go. "you promised me you wouldn't leave" he said more quietly and guilt overcame me. I looked down at the ground as his hands rested on my shoulders. "she's been through some shit" Tony said, smiling at me comfortingly as he saw my expressions fall. "you owe me an explanation later, but for now i'm so glad you're alive" he said, hugging me once more before wrapped his arm around my shoulder. Steve was my best friends. Yes we'd had an on and off thing but it wasn't ever going to be anything serious. He was still hung up on that chick from 70 years ago and i wasn't going to wait around for him, but we still cared about each other endlessly. "does Nat know?" Steve asked and i shook my head. "she's going to go mental" Bruce said bluntly and i rolled my eyes. "do you not think i am crapping myself already!" i exclaimed to him, smiling and we both chuckled.

"they're late, let's get started" Fury said and we all took our places around the table. He started explaining about how Ultron practically controlled the internet and could see us coming from a mile away, so we had to use old fashioned methods, reading old files and finding clues. The door opened and Clint walked in, followed by Nat. "sorry we're late" Clint said. "so you should be" Fury said and i chuckled, causing both their eyes to fall to me. Clints eyes widened where as Nat looked like she'd seen a ghost. "Hey Nat" i said softly and she shook her head. "you died" she mumbled. "i'll explain everything to you later" i said, standing up and approaching her slowly. Everybody watched closely, worried about her reaction. I placed my hand on her shoulder as a tear rolled down her cheek. Suddenly a harsh slap came across my cheek. I was taken back with force, raising my hand to my cheek instantly. I felt the burn. "where were you?" she demanded angrily. "i'll tell you later" i said, glaring at her. "what was SO important that you didn't contact anyone, let alone your god damn sister for TWO YEARS!" she said. "Nat" i said calmly. "no you give me a straight answer" she demanded. "not right no-" i started but she cut me off "RIGHT NOW!" she shouted at me. Steve was soon in between us "listen to her" Steve started to say before Natasha cut him off. "you stay out of this" Nat said as she glared at Steve and he looked at me softly before stepping back. "i was held captive...against my will. I was forced to run tests on new technology. I was abused, starved, almost killed. I escaped just under 6 months ago, managing to contact SHEILD. I then spent 3 months in intensive care and the following 3 months training and building myself back up. Physically and mentally...i'm sorry i didn't call, but i couldn't" i said, tears in my eyes as Nat looked at me. She burst into tears and hugged me tightly. "i love you" she said and i hugged her back tightly. "i love you too Nat" i said, relaxing into her hug. We always felt safe around each other, and i haven't felt this safe in years.
