My jaw dropped out of shock. Was he not supposed to be hunting down werewolves? Isn't he too old to be in high school? He had said that he was twenty years old, so how could he even get admission into this school? So many questions popped up in my mind. My only focus right now was to make sure that he did not see me. He might not even be in my class. I am a junior. Maybe, I can go through the entire school year without even meeting him. Yes, I should do that.

He was walking in our direction, so I immediately turned around to face my locker. I opened my locker door and hid behind it so that Ethan would not be able to see my face. I could feel him walk past Susan and I. While I was hiding my face in my locker, Susan was busy taking deep breaths and smiling at Ethan. I even waited till he was far enough, before showing my face again. I have to be alert now.

"I love high school for this reason...hot new guys!" Susan looked excited.

"Susan, he is clearly a senior and too old for us. You know that perfect guys like him are stupid and they have only one goal in life – getting physical with girls. So whatever thoughts are running around in your mind, stop them. It is impossible, and you know it!" I give her this same advice every year, whenever a new guy pops up at our school.

I think that we should use our time in high school to study and build a career, rather than waste precious time on guys who will inevitably break our hearts without even thinking about how much time we have invested in them. Susan never believed in this 'nonsense'. As Susan's best friend, it is my duty to put her on the right track. That is what friends are for.

"Oh come on, Anna. Stop with the advice. I know that falling for guys like him means that I may get my heartbroken in the end, but it is worth it. He looks pretty handsome and smart. It's a combination that you don't find in guys very often. And he is not a senior, because I haven't seen him before."

"Well, I cannot tell you to stop feeling things. But in the end, it is your choice whether you want the best for yourself or not."

"Okay, Mom. I just want him to end up in my class." She giggled, and I just rolled my eyes at her to ignore the fact that she had called me Mom.

To change the topic, I said, "Let's go to class because there are only five minutes left for the first period to start. You should not be late, and give an incomplete assignment."

"Yep, let's go."

We climbed up to the second floor and entered our classroom which was on the right-hand corner of the hallway. The room was more spacious than I thought it would be. There were four rows, each with seven benches that were equally spaced apart. The walls were painted white, and there was a blackboard at the front of the class. I sat in the fourth row - not too far and not too close. Susan sat next to me.

The class filled up, in a matter of seconds. Thank god we came at the right time and got the best seats before they were taken. Mr Joseph entered the class wearing a grey suit with a black tie. He was in his 30s but unfortunately looked much older.

Mr Joseph silenced the class by introducing himself. "Class, let's open our books to page five. World War II. It's a very interesting topic, so I expect all of you to pay close attention for the next forty-five minutes. And if I see anyone sleeping..."

"Excuse me, sir, may I come in?" Nobody ever dares to interrupt Mr Joseph because he is very strict, and sends people to detention when they interrupt him. I looked up to see the source of the disturbance. Susan and I were both surprised and confused at the same. Ethan is in our class. How is that even possible? He is twenty years old. Does the principal even know about him? Why am I even worried?
